Women suffering from menopause hot flashes are in for a sweet surprise: scientists from the University of Southern California have found that a natural extract from the licorice plant significantly reduces symptoms.
The researchers found that women taking the licorice supplement daily had 80 percent less hot flashes than a similar group taking a placebo. The scientists also noted that important markers of bone health in the licorice volunteers were significantly better than the placebo group. The researchers note that licorice works as it’s biologically similar to the hormone estrogen.
A natural way to get rid of menopause…

I was always told not to have licorice if you have high blood preasure. I have hot flashes from time to time and hiper tension some times. I’ve stayed away from the licorice.
Thanks for clarifying “black” licorice … and can we get benefits from eating licorice or does it need to be the actual suppliment?
Licorice can cause water retentsion and high blood pressure. Be careful using this without a Doctor monitoring you.
I guess it would not hurt to try this – for all menopause sufferers.
