So-called “male menopause” –or lower testosterone levels on older men—afflicts upwards of 4 in 10 men over the age of 45, according to research published in the B.C. Medical Journal.
However, very few men with low testosterone levels are ever diagnosed by a doctor, the researchers note. Low testosterone levels can induce a number of serious health issues, including erectile dysfunction, heart disease and osteoporosis.
The scientists added, however, that the only viable treatment option –testosterone replacement therapy—is still unproven.

I get quite annoyed when people talk of “the male menopause”, even when the words “so called” are used.
Let’s get one medical fact straight please, males do not have a “meno” to “pause”.
This is a mid to late life hormonal problem and in that way and that way only, it is SIMILAR to menopause but it is not associated with anything remotely similar to the cessation of menstrual flow, neither as cause nor effect.
no problems here thanks.
I had a very harsh deep cough several months ago that came from the bottom of my lungs.I have had heart problems and it was a little like a “heart-cough”it wasn’t. None of the tests the doctors performed could find the problem. Eventually I tried a Dr I had known from school days (45yrs ago) He specialises in hormones and imediately had the answer to my problem before he sent me for testing. Too much oestrogen! You crave carbs, my wieght went up, I was flabby, acording to him the excess oestrogen was being sent to my lungs with the sugar to be formed into something with a very long name (long chain poly morphic something) to be coughed up. My test came back with 10 times the standard (Oest) levels for a 60 year old male. I was put on herbs to strip this from my body ,the cough dissapeared, the Kilos fell off and my man-boobs shrank. I will never again laugh at any female who complains about sore nipples again, the pain is unbelievable. hope this is of interest to you Dennis
Thanks Dennis toop for that heads up I have that same problem
Thanks Dennis, so what’s the treatment for those of us who do not have access to your Doctor?
