This snack cuts Cholesterol and gut swellingEating this snack might be the easiest way to lower your cholesterol and reduce gut inflammation, without changing anything else.

That’s according to a new study just published in Nutrition Research.

Researchers from Oregon State University ran a 12-week randomized trial with adults diagnosed with metabolic syndrome… a cluster of conditions that raises your risk of heart attack, stroke, and type 2 diabetes.

They split participants into two groups.

One group snacked on two ounces of whole roasted almonds each day.

The other group ate an identical number of calories, but from crackers.

That’s it.

No other diet changes.

No exercise programs.

Just almonds vs. crackers.

And what happened?

Within four weeks, the almond group had a measurable reduction in waist circumference.

By the end of the study, they also had significantly lower total cholesterol and LDL (“bad”) cholesterol.

That would’ve been enough, but there was more.

Almonds also improved gut health markers.

People who started the study with signs of gut inflammation showed clear improvements in two key indicators: fecal calprotectin and myeloperoxidase.

Both are associated with intestinal inflammation and gut barrier damage, especially in people with metabolic syndrome.

That’s not all.

Almond eaters get a daily dose of critical nutrients most people are low on: magnesium, soluble fiber, and alpha-tocopherol (a form of vitamin E).

These findings are important because they show how one simple change can ripple across your whole body.

Gut inflammation down.

LDL cholesterol down.

Waist size down.

Nutrient levels up.

All from replacing crackers with almonds.
