Enlarged Prostate caused by an everyday drinkYes, you may love it.

But is it worth inflating your prostate by 52%?

Because that’s what it does, according to a new study in Frontiers in Nutrition.

There’s, however, a way to enjoy this drink and shrink your prostate… if you do it the right way.

The researchers used data from the U.S. National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey from 2005 to 2008.

This survey collects health and diet information from a large, nationally representative group of adult Americans.

They analyzed the data of 2,374 men over the age of 40.

These men completed two 24-hour food recall surveys, which researchers used to estimate their average daily caffeine intake from all sources—including coffee, tea, soft drinks, and energy drinks.

The men were divided into three groups based on their caffeine intake:

• Low intake: less than 106.5 milligrams per day

• Moderate intake: 106.5 to 261.5 milligrams per day

• High intake: 261.5 milligrams or more per day

They also reported whether they had ever been diagnosed with an enlarged prostate.

Here are the key findings:

1. Men in the high-caffeine intake group were 52% more likely to report having an enlarged prostate compared to those in the low-intake group.

2. This link remained strong even after accounting for age, weight, smoking, income, blood pressure, and other health factors.

Certain subgroups saw an even stronger link than the general population did:

1. Men with high blood pressure had more than double the risk if they consumed high levels of caffeine.

2. Former smokers, those with middle income levels, those married or living with partners, and those with lower education showed a particularly strong risk.

3. Men with high blood pressure and those with uric acid levels in the normal range (between 5.5 and 6.5 milligrams per deciliter) also showed a higher risk.

4. Other than high blood pressure, men without cardiovascular disease were more affected than those without it.

If you are a man over 60 — especially with high blood pressure or urinary issues — watch your caffeine intake carefully.

The high-intake group in this study consumed the equivalent of two to three cups of coffee daily, suggesting you should cut back to a maximum of one cup daily.

Or go decaf and drink as much as you want.

But there is an easy way to shrink an enlarged prostate naturally (and enjoy your coffee, too) using simple diet and lifestyle changes explained here (thousands of men have done it)…
