For people with multiple sclerosis (MS), fatigue can be one of the most debilitating symptoms—affecting up to 97% of MS patients.
But a 2,000-year-old treatment offers a great relief. That’s according to a new review in Complementary Therapies in Clinical Practice.
It significantly improved fatigue and quality of life for people suffering MS.
Acupuncture…
-
1. Reduced Fatigue Levels: Patients who received acupuncture treatments reported an average drop of nearly one point on a fatigue scale, showing meaningful improvement.
2. Better Quality of Life: Many who tried acupuncture experienced noticeable enhancements in their overall quality of life. They reported feeling more energetic and able to engage in daily activities.
3. No Change in Disability Levels: While acupuncture helped with fatigue and quality of life, it didn’t show measurable improvements in physical disability levels among the participants.
The researchers noted that, despite some differences in how acupuncture was performed across studies, the results were fairly consistent: acupuncture appeared to help with fatigue and well-being.
