Who doesn’t love an easy fix for high blood pressure, especially when it makes you laugh (and we’re NOT talking about laughing therapy)?
The embarrassing nature of an accidental release of gas, or “breaking wind” is what some would describe as a stressful, anxiety-riddled accident.
However, the gas that gives flatulence it’s ‘stink’ factor has recently been discovered to actually be beneficial to blood vessel health.
Researchers at John’s Hopkins University, for whatever reason, studied the enzyme that produces hydrogen sulfide. This is one of several gasses that make up flatus but is the key culprit in the rotten egg smell of a ‘toot.’
The enzyme, however, was found to relax blood vessels. When it is actively doing that, the enzyme releases the hydrogen sulfide gas.
Chinese researchers “got wind of it” (had to use the pun…sorry) and decided to work on a way to harness the gas for use in a clinical application to reduce blood pressure in humans after seeing the effects hydrogen sulfide gas had on mice.
It’s not known at this time how they plan to introduce the gas into human physiology synthetically.
So the next time you stress out for ‘letting one go,’ try to remember that some healthy, relaxed blood vessels likely played a part.
Even if this is not a great scientific cure for high blood pressure, at least I hope this article brought up a smile. And laughter has definitely been proven to lower blood pressure 😉
Or, avoid smell altogether and try our easy exercises for high blood pressure that don’t stink at all…
Many years ago I was told that over eating was the actual cause, well not exactly over eating itself, but the lack of digestive enzymes to process the food. If one eats too much an doesn’t masticate ones food properly, it usually goes that those who gulp down food rather than take the time to chew each mouthful, it goes into the stomach without sufficient digestive enzymes produced in one saliva. This causes food to go into the intestine undigested and this is the cause of evil smelling gas, in many country’s around the world to pass gas is not frowned upon as much as in Cultured Western Society. It is also unfortunate that as one ages those digestive enzymes do not work as they once did and that is the cause of older people passing gas quite frequently as they walk………….Faaaaaart ?
LOL! No more excuses when I toot ha ha.
As my dear old Nan always used to say, "whether in Church or Chapel, let the bugger rattle" it ain't good to keep it in.
A sigh is but a spout of wind
That issues from the heart
But when it takes a downward course
Then its called a fart
To fart it is a pleasure
It gives the bowels ease
It warms and scents the bedclothes
And suffocates the fleas

….a little 'toot' can go a long way…LOL :>).
Now you diddnt think of poetry related to flatulence did you?
But seriously Brian, I think its what you eat, now how. Gulping food may take in excess air resulting in “burping” but certain foodstuffs affect people differently. For example, raw or cooked swede I love but boy does it make I blow off. Eggs too, famously occasion great gouts of wind but CURRIED EGGS!!!! have an atomic effect.
Aping the Western countries, all educated people in other countries are frowning on this habit thus forcing the person to suppress it forcibly which is resulting in more serious health problems. If the faarting is without noise, the culprit may go unnoticed and the event will be soon forgotten. In some groups, when more than one person is habituated to faart, then it becomes a Faarting competition and the winner will be the one who faarts with the loudest noise and foulest smell. Are you ready?
an interesting tidbit? You tell me..
not surprised you found this article Pete..LOL….now where's the one on the benefits of a good BM……you could write that one…hehe!
We say, 9 doctors can not put it back.
It’s better to fart and bear the shame
than not to fart and bear the pain.
Sorry! That is NOT right, sometimes one can “toot – Fart” or what ever you want to call it when you haven’t eaten anything at all, and slow mastication has always been known as a good idea. I’d like you to tell everybody where you are coming from on this, Please?
Hey, so that means Howard Stern didn’t show us “everything” bad!
Christian, I want to send this to several friends with high blood pressure. The laughs will help their pressure a lot, too!
Thanks for this healthy humor!
georgia
….my BP has been great of late…what's that smell :>)
A Fart is a breeze that gives the stomach ease, it warms up the sheets and suffercates the flees. Now what’s a Fart???? A Fart is an agonizing scream from a trapped shit….LOL
Being a vegetarian has many advantages. However, eating a lot of beans is healthy but it does have a side effect! It can cause gas and I guess it reminds me of a famous poem that I knew as a young man: It can apply to this article:
Beans, beans are good for your heart,
The more you eat, the more you fart,
The more you fart, the better you feel,
So, eat beans at every meal!
* Couldn’t resist this poem and hopefully it brought a laugh and didn’t offend to many people. I’m fortunate that my girl friend can put up with me!
Thanks,
Steve
Actually en light how to reduce farting in healthy way that blood pressure kept balanced and farting reduced or stopped
Seen on an Earls
court
station (U.K) toilet door
“Here I sit, broken hearted-
paid a penny and only farted…..”
It is true that it is beneficial to ‘let go’ but boy, the smell is not so swell when it reminds you of a rotten egg; Too you can easily know ‘who did it’ when the first person beging to fan!
