A recent study by the US Department of Agriculture showed a tasty juice to be effective at reducing pre-hypertensive blood pressure levels to normal in 8 weeks.
What is the juice, which incidentally can be found on most any grocery or health food store shelf?
The gift of cranberries seems to keep on giving, with their powerful antioxidants taking on the worst a body can do to itself.
Most people who have had trouble with urinary tract infections have already been told the virtues of drinking cranberry juice, but recently a study by the USDA has shown that it can knock pre-hypertensive people out of the danger zone in just 8 weeks.
Participants were divided into 2 groups- one drinking unsweetened cranberry juice (not cranberry cocktail) and those drinking a placebo which was similar in calories, taste, color, and vitamin C content.
What they found was that the average blood pressure levels went down from 121/73mmHG to 118/70mmHG for the juice drinkers when changing nothing else in the diet.
Powerful antioxidants are thought to be the source of the great benefits, and experts concluded that it doesn’t matter if it’s sweetened, unsweetened, or low-calorie. As long as it has a high concentration of pure cranberry juice, benefits can be seen.

Over the years the level of blood pressure considered ‘normal’ has been progressively lowered until now everyone is a potential patient, and ‘customer’ for the drugs industry. Along with new and ‘lower’ cholesterol, sugar, and other body levels of this or that which the”Establishment” deems is the ‘ideal.’ Yet we have the sickest society ever known, people come out of the pharmacy with bags filled with drugs to keep them ‘stable’ and why because the dietary changes the “Establishment” and other ‘nutritionists’ and health ‘gurus’ have told them to make DOES NOT WORK.
Neither will this ‘SUGARY’ concotion work either, all it will do is exacerbate their problem and add more health risks by the same “Establishment” that provides the poisoned food and water that has made people sick in the first place.
The evidence is all around us of the massive failure of the present “health” advice, yet the paid for propagandists pursue the lie, and only add to the problem as they see obesity, cancer, heart disease, diabetes, athritis, etc, go off the charts. We are surrounded by plagues, yet the money orientated corporations and their puppets promise a future ‘cure’ it is always tomorrow, for their is no profit in healthy people.
The carrot and sick, the motto of the health industry.
How much cranberry juice did they have to drink?
sounds like a plan to start drinking cranberry juice.
I totally agree my cholestrol and blood pressure was high for a while. For six months I had oatmeal and cranberry juice diluted with lemon. Blood pressure and cholestrol. I am on medication for both because of family history but doing well. Blood pressure is 130/70 and cholestrol is 139. It is amazing but it works.

I love cranberry juice. I buy the unsweetened and sweeten it with liquid stevia. Sometimes I mix it with Pelligrino water and ice. I am glad to know that if I drink it everyday, it could help lower my bp!
I stopped drinking it but stopped but I will now drink it to lower my bld pressure..thanks for the information..huggies, Linda.
great news. I had my children and grandson drink cranberry juice for a very long time.
Good news. Do the dried berries have the same effect?
8 weeks to drop BP 3 pts? I'm underwhelmed.
I drink it almost everyday. We have to buy 2 bottles every time we go to the store because we drink so much of it
An added benefit for men with prostrate enlargement problems and symptoms: I was beginning to have slight pain when urinating. I began drinking cranberry juice ,about 8 oz a day divided into 4 -2OZ each day. It got rid of the pain. I had read in Prevention magazine that drinking 1 oz of POM juice a day for a year will lower blood pressure 20 % for most people. I did the POM juice for 8 months and it didn’t lower my blood pressure. I heve to wonder if the people that make these clims has investments in the product and if the tests are real?
Ray – it was around 8 OZ a day in the study. Any amount however will be beneficial.
Deb – Dried berries should have the same results since it’s the antioxidant ingredients in the berries. Just be aware that dried berries are often very high in calories and have added sugars (as well as some cranberry juice).

Thanks for the feedback. Like many readers here I’ve been frustrated when readers’ questions aren’t answered. We know you’ve got a life too, but thanks for the effort.
Not much point drinking sweetened variety. Don't need that sugar hit. Besides any juice that is sitting on a shelf has obviously been treated in some way and would have very little nutritional value/benefits. It would need to be freshly made in order for it to be of any value.
I don’t understand the point. It says “A recent study by the US Department of Agriculture showed a tasty juice to be effective at reducing pre-hypertensive blood pressure levels to normal in 8 weeks.” But later it notes that “What they found was that the average blood pressure levels went down from 121/73mmHG to 118/70mmHG for the juice drinkers when changing nothing else in the diet.”
So they are saying it reduced blood pressure levels by a whole three points?
121/73 is a very healthy BP level and as a previous writer says, the drug companies will only keep dropping the BP levels lower and lower so they can hook people onto blood pressure meds.
Reduce your all stress levels … Relax and do some meditation for relaxing the mind and guess what …. much lower BP … a lot is in your mind and what you dwell upon.
Cheers
You did not mention whether it has a comparable effect on your bp.
Thanks for this article. Cranberry Juice would have Vitimin C and antioxidants shown to drop blood pressure. Awesome!
