In a study looking specifically at people aged 70 through 79 across 6 years found that those who had a deficiency in this widely available vitamin had a 30% higher likelihood of arthritis mobility problems than those who had plenty.
Vitamin D has recently been the superhero of beating down bad guys like heart disease, diabetes, and other inflammation processes.
Recently, though, it has also been shown to significantly increase the mobility levels for people who are over 70 as compared to people who don’t get enough of this critical vitamin.
…in fact, those with the lowest levels of vitamin were at a 93% increased risk of mobility limitations that were categorized as severe.
While the study was merely correlative in nature, experts agree that arthritis and other disease processes are much improved when vitamin D levels are optimum.
A natural way to defeat arthritis, including Vitamin D recommendations…
I’ve never slipped, slopped or splashed as our Australian government has spent millions on advising us to do with sunscreens. How much disease has this government program depleting vitamin D promoted?
I’ve seen young people who have followed this advice buried in their twenties. Their melanomas were in the clothes-hidden and shoe-hidden areas of their bodies – their backs and their toes, not their noses or hands. It wasn’t the sun that caused their cancers.
The sun heals us.
Vitamin D is magnific treatment for arthritis!
You are right about sun, the toxins in the sunscreen are worse but melanoma is not necessarily a death sentence. There is effective therapy in Belize and Ecuador that is not legal in Australia. It is a form of cytokine therapy and even is effective on mets to bone. Please note that too much Vit D al;so causes cancer. This is not a concern with sun exposure as tanning limits amount of Vit D produced but it is a serious issue for people using supplements. Too high levels of Vit D suppress immune function such that risk of cancer goes up as body fails to detect and attack abnormal cells. Low Vit D makes the body’s immune system overreactive which can help with infections but increases likelihood of auto immune and allergic responses.
In winter when our bodies don't get enough sunlight we should be supplementing with vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 combined with calcium.
Vitamin D on it's own is not enough. Always buy from reputable companies as there are many harmful synthetic supplements out there causing far more harm than good. Even prescription supplements are mostly synthetic manufactured by the drug companies.
Good food and sunshine are the best medicine of course but we needn't miss out during in the winter months.
Vitamina D es importante para combatir la artritis, pero debe ser D3.
For many years I have been suffering body pain, undiagnosed pain in the upper trapesius, in the wrists, in my hands, general pain in the body.
I have undergone several operations such as carpel tunnel release, even lumbar spine surgery … nothing has released the pain.
I have recently been diagnosed with “severe” common all garden arthritis in my neck. It was discovered after having a bone scan …. not a bone density scan. It showed up as a huge black blob in the neck and in several other areas in smaller traces … even in my inner ear.
I also have thyroid deficiency, and have now had a blood test which shows Vit D deficiency. I think all of this has been caused by Vit D deficiency!
How do I know how much suppliment to take, and is it too late?
I've not tried yet taking Vit. D. Could it be taken without any doctor's prescription? I'll try this one, too.
surely, it helps against arthritis.
