Can you “undo” the high blood pressure gene without medication?
The answer in today’s article.
It turns out that even for people with a genetic predisposition for high blood pressure there is a natural way to undo the damage of genetics.
What is the key? Exercise!
A recent study from the University of South Carolina at Columbia revealed that people with a strong family history were almost 35% less likely to develop hypertension if they were physically fit.
What’s even better news is that the parameters of what is considered “physically fit” are so loose. Those that participate in exercise such as a brisk walk only 150 minutes per week were able to drastically cut their risk of hypertension despite family history.

Your article was very interesting but the book is a bit expensive!
exersize is the BEST WAY to stay in shape, maintaine weight, helps control B P etc. etc. I'm proof of it……………..
I walk almost every day minimum 30 minutes and I use less salt and generally watch what I eat but even with this my Bp is high.Im in my mid 50s what should I do?
I walk 2 blocks 2 times a week and avoid sodiums, I would LOVE to walk further but I have bad foot since surgery few years ago and it’s painful
seems like the moore I walk and exercise moderately, my blood pressure stays lower and I am starting to feel a lot better.
Yes I agree exercise is the Key.
Everyday early morning I use to have a 20-minute walk and I don't eat too much rice, salty, fatty, and sweet foods. I'm a diabetic but controlled blood sugar. Doing such practice, I found out that my blood pressure is also normalized. And most of all, I have a strong faith in God for my healing. Thank God.
Yes, exercise and diet are the answer. At first I hated it sooo boring, but when I started feeling well and stronger and Happy again it became a lot more interesting.
yes,I believe that exercise really helps in lowering blood pressure, the problem is I have cardiomegaly, anyone knows how to bring back myheart size?
Pardon me, but I don't agree that exercise is one sure guarantee to keep someone in good health. We have heard professional athletes who have devoted more times on strenuous activities to keep themselves fit succumbed to heart attack. I believe exercise can help in a way but not a free ticket to a clean bill of health. Just like the saying goes: "If your time is up there is nothing you can do about it", even the most healthy person in this planet.
Nega na naman si Daddy
I'm at 40's..exercise is a part of my daily lives. But even I'm doing exercise everyday..still my blood pressure gets high.I'm taking 5 mg of amlor everyday for my daily maintenance..One time I stopped this amlor and eats healthy foods everyday.I avoid these salty, fatty and sweet foods.Vegetables, fruits and juices are part of my daily meals and exercise. It was fine in the first week but because of too much stress at work..my blood pressure could not maintain by these exercises and eating healthy foods.I conclude that this exercise could not help if you are always stress at work…
Sounds like someone who doesn't exercise much and is looking for an excuse. The athletes that succumb to heart attacks usually have something genetically wrong with their hearts.
It isn't the stress. It's the effort you're putting into your "exercise". Digna, I was in good health. I weighed 165 lbs and I'm 5'9" tall. I worked out running a little and doing weight training 3 times a week. My blood pressure was high. I started working out 5 days a week, running much faster and doing more weights. It took 6 months to get my pressure down. That was year ago and it's still down. But my pressures at work and personally are just as stressful as ever. Oh, and I lost 10lbs. in those 6 months and I've kept it off.
Increase the intensity of your walking. Start jogging. Elevate your heartbeat to between 120 to 150 beats per minute for 30 minutes, 5 days a week. If you're like me it will still take 6 months to get it down but you will. And you will keep it down if you keep it up. Keep a journal and take it seriously. Oh, and I'm 58.
HOW IS MY SPECIAL ONE?
That is the point, exercise is no guarantee and if your time is up no matter how healthy and fit you are you have to go. I have nothing against exercises for I am doing it regularly to keep me in shape.
Meditation has proven to be a sure shot statistically.
Normally medittaion is associated with YOGA which is nothing but moderate excercises with various postures + breathing pattern.
Heavy excercises do not add much value for sure health except for fame & recognition and pride
