Eating too much protein – especially in the form of processed meat—can make your body less sensitive to the effects of the hormone insulin, a study presented at a meeting of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes notes.
In this study of more than 27,000 adults it was found that those with the highest intake of dietary protein had a 37% greater risk of developing type 2 diabetes when compared to the low protein group.
Processed meat eaters were also at heightened risk. The authors warn, however, that a protein-rich diet has been shown in several research studies to help diabetics control their weight and blood sugar levels.

SO, WHICH IS REALLY WHICH? Does eating protein-rich diet hurt diebetics?
OR, does it hurt them?
I recently went a blood group diet, I have blood group 0, in the two week cleansing part of the diet i had my blood tested before and after. I was insulin resistant prior to the diet and my blood test came back clear from insulin resistance post the two week period. I mainly consumed protein in this time and stayed clear of wheat products.
