Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and Type-2 Diabetes are often brought on by a high-fat diet.
So, the last thing you’d think is that a specific oil could heal it, right?
But a new study in the journal Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology has now proven that one specific oil heals NAFLD and reduces insulin resistance for type-2 diabetics.
Obesity and chronic inflammation have been linked together to many metabolic conditions such as diabetes, with its accompanying insulin resistance, as well as to nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).
This knowledge served as the starting point for a new study.
These researchers wanted to test anti-inflammatory chemicals to see whether they could work to combat insulin resistance and NAFLD, which often occur together.
They picked patchouli oil (or rather, the alcohol extracted from the plant) and performed their study on mice.
They fed the mice a high-fat diet to induce insulin resistance and NAFLD. They then fed the mice the patchouli alcohol.
After a few weeks, the mice had a sharp drop in chronic inflammation, lower insulin resistance in their skeletal muscles, and an improvement in fat metabolism in their livers.
This treatment also prevented the scarring and death of liver tissue that results from dangerous fat buildup in the liver.
The scientists could trace exactly which chemical inflammation paths were blocked by the patchouli.
It’s difficult to confirm these findings in humans because essential oils are usually unsafe for oral consumption. But it definitely wouldn’t hurt to use patchouli essential oil in an infuser to see how it affects your NAFLD and Type-2 Diabetes.
But if you want to completely clear your liver of all excess fat and heal the damage already done, you’ll have to make a few simple lifestyle changes, explained here…
And if you’ve already developed Type-2 Diabetes, you should follow these 3 simple steps to reverse it in 28 days or less…
