Fact #1: Everyone feels fatigued at some point. Catch a nap, take a nice long weekend, and it’s gone. No big deal.
Fact #2: Feeling tired all the time is a sign of chronic fatigue. Or it can mean you’re suffering from fibromyalgia. Either way, it’s a big deal.
For ages and ages, no one really knew what caused chronic fatigue. Was it a psychological disorder or something else? A bit of a mystery.
Chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia can be resilient and then strike all of a sudden. These problems are not understood well even though nearly 1 million people suffer from it in United States alone. But thanks to recent findings by a National Institute of Health study, the problem has been identified at the root level – that is the genes.
140 patients with chronic fatigue syndrome participated in the study and their gene expression was studied before and multiple times after moderate exercise. A new gene expression technology was used to identify differences in gene activity compared to the performance of healthy individuals.
The team has currently patented the gene expression technology so that it can be used as a convenient diagnostic tool for identifying the disease through simple blood tests.
Those who are suffering from chronic fatigue usually experience brain fog, memory problems, weakness and lack of coordination apart from a general feeling of weakness. It is important not to indulge in physically or mentally strenuous tasks when suffering from chronic fatigue to avoid causing serious health problems.
Similarly, physicians no longer consider this problems as ‘something that’s in your head. Chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia is very much real, painful and debilitating. More and more physicians are accepting them as health disorder that requires immediate care and treatment.
Well i almost agree with Christian. I am sure the scientists are correct about changing gene expression and i have proved this on myself. However, what causes gene expression to change are the thoughts, chemicals and everything else released by the brain. As this is usually a sub concious process you will need to identify what beliefs are influencing this and then change them through CGT, EFT, Theta etc.
I have seen this done many times and it does work, It is a bit like the chicken and egg situation, what comes first, the thought or the gene expression. My money is on the thought.
I went to a 100% low fat raw vegan diet (80/10/10) to deal with CFS from Epstein Barr. Made a huge difference. My gene expression may have been changed by the EBV but didn’t need to get an expensive test for gene expression from a lab. Amazing how my beliefs are still the same and the CFS is a thing of the past. Have no idea if fits for anyone else.
Me gusta mucho los temas que traen.
Gracias por su ayuda.
Not sure about these revelations, it appears many disorders and illnesses are gene related, one thing I do know is Fibro myalgia is debilitating and painful, however there are varying degrees of this illness that is not ME related. I’m fine some days , others I ache from top to toe and feel so ill I can hardly lift my head from the pillow , whereas when I feel well my aching is less. More research needs doing to find out more about this illness, and diagnosis should be done by Rheumatologist someone specialising in the field not doctors second guessing saying it is the result of depression.
