Heal sleep apnea at home—in 3 minutes(study)A recent network meta-analysis in Journal of Evidence-Based Dental Practice takes a fresh look at myofunctional therapy (MT) for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).

It dives into randomized trials from adults and kids, adding up the effects across studies up to April 2024.

Myofunctional therapy is a series of exercises that target the muscles of the tongue, mouth, and throat.

The goal is to tone and train these muscles to stay in the right position during sleep, which can help reduce airway collapse, snoring, and other issues tied to obstructive sleep apnea.

And the results were nothing short of amazing,

Epworth Sleepiness Scale scores dropped by about 3.5 points, and sleep quality improved too, with PSQI scores going down by around 2.2 points.

Those aren’t tiny shifts.

They mean you’d likely notice significantly less daytime grogginess and wake up more rested.

Subjects also experienced fewer arousals, and their snoring became lighter.

This comes as no surprise to me.
For over 25 years, I’ve been helping people heal their snoring and sleep apnea using simple throat, tongue, and jaw exercises — similar to MT but much more effective.

Plus, they take as little as three minutes per day, and many people report immediate improvements the very first night.
