50 adults with metabolic syndrome were divided into two groups:

• Control Group: Followed a standard healthy diet.
• Intervention Group: Added 15 grams of brown rice bran daily to their diet.
Researchers tracked changes in weight, waist size, cholesterol, blood sugar, antioxidant levels, and digestive health over eight week.
Blood samples and gastrointestinal questionnaires provided additional data.
The group taking brown rice bran saw significant improvements:

• Blood sugar levels and insulin resistance significantly improved.
• BMI and waist circumference dropped noticeably.
• Total cholesterol and LDL (“bad”) cholesterol were significantly lower.
• Enzymes like glutathione peroxidase and superoxide dismutase increased, reducing oxidative stress.
• Participants reported better digestion and reduced constipation.
There were no major changes in triglycerides, HDL (“good”) cholesterol, or blood pressure, but the overall benefits were substantial.
