Chronic bronchitis is tough to live with – and tougher to treat.
But a recent study published in PLOS ONE reveals a simple solution…
Add a common food type to your daily diet and lower chronic bronchitis rates by 45%.
This food is already sitting in your kitchen waiting to be eaten.
Flavonoids are compounds mostly found in colorful fruits and vegetables. They are known for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
Chronic inflammation and oxidation contribute to respiratory diseases. Could flavonoids prevent these conditions?
The researchers investigated this.
They analyzed data from 11,743 U.S. adults. It was collected through the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2007-2018).
Participants reported all diagnoses of chronic bronchitis, emphysema, or asthma. The researchers then studied their food diaries. Does flavonoid intake correlate with these conditions?
To ensure accurate findings, the researchers adjusted for age, gender, BMI, smoking habits, and other health factors like diabetes and high blood pressure.
Here’s what they discovered:
-
• 45% Lower Risk: Those who consumed most flavonoids had a 45% lower risk of chronic bronchitis and a 28% lower risk of asthma.
• Top Flavonoids for Bronchitis: Thearubigins, pelargonidin, and cyanidin were the most protective flavonoids against chronic bronchitis.
• Daily Intake Recommendation: Aim for 1500 mg of flavonoids daily – two colorful fruits and vegetables servings.
So, flavonoids help with Chronic Bronchitis.
That’s great.
But this study uncovers something more important.
The study proves, you can improve Chronic Bronchitis naturally. And it’s not just about smoking.
