These Plants Treat Enlarged ProstateWith the traditional medical system having no reliable, non-invasive solutions for enlarged prostate, millions of men seek help from natural supplements.

There is no shortage of prostate supplements. You can choose from hundreds of different brands online and in your local pharmacy.

Most of these supplements are useless, and their ingredients have not been proven effective in scientific studies.

That’s why a new study published in The International Journal of Molecular Sciences reviewed hundreds of studies on natural plant chemicals for enlarged prostate and identified the ingredients with the strongest scientific research behind them.

Here are the substances supported by the most scientific research.

1. Equol, an isoflavonoid in plants (especially soy products), binds to certain prostate receptors and blocks the enzymes involved in cellular growth. This prevents the unnecessary enlargement of the prostate and reduces the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), or enlarged prostate.

2. Beta-sitosterol (BST), a plant cholesterol, can stop prostate cell proliferation, halt tumor progression, and increase urinary flow in men with BPH.

3. Saw palmetto is the most thoroughly studied plant for the treatment of BPH and has even been approved in many European countries as a treatment. It works through numerous mechanisms to halt prostate growth and treat symptoms.

4. BST-enriched saw palmetto is more effective than conventional saw palmetto in treating BPH.

5. Stinging nettle (Urtica dioica) halts prostate enlargement and reduces the severity of the symptoms.

6. Saw palmetto and stinging nettle together work better than either alone.

7. Pumpkin seed extract and oil have also been well studied. They inhibit the 5alpha-reductase enzyme, which is the same as the effect of popular medicines.

8. Lycopene, the antioxidant in red and orange fruits and vegetables, prevents oxidative stress and inflammation, inhibits cell proliferation, and improves BPH symptoms. Tomato supplements are especially effective.

9. Green tea, especially the catechin EGCG found in it, works through many mechanisms to treat BPH, including anti-inflammation, anti-oxidation, lowering of excess testosterone, and the promotion of necessary cell death.

10. A green and black tea combination extract works just as well as green tea alone.

Therefore, natural substances such as equol, beta-sitosterol, saw palmetto, stinging nettle, pumpkin seed, lycopene, and green tea have been backed by scientific research for the treatment of an enlarged prostate or BPH.

It is better to take these in supplement form than in your diet, as foods don’t contain enough of them to have the same beneficial effects.

Buying each of these supplements separately can be quite complicated and expensive. Therefore, some good supplement manufacturers have created specific prostate supplements containing one or more of the ingredients listed above.

The best supplement by far that I recommend is called Prostate 911. You can find this excellent prostate supplement here…
