The Oldest Way to Heal Enlarged ProstateSometimes, we’re so focused on finding new solutions that we forget about the old, proven methods.

A new study in the journal Europe PMC put one of the oldest methods to treat enlarged prostate to a test. The results were on par with many modern medicines, without the side effects.

Researchers from Capital Medical University in Beijing recruited 60 men with mild to moderate enlarged prostate symptoms and divided them into two groups.

The observation group consisted of 30 participants who were all treated with fire needling at three locations: Guanyuan (CV 4), Shuidao (ST 28), and Qugu (CV 2), all located below the navel around the pubic area. They received two treatments per week for four weeks.

Fire needling is a type of acupuncture in which the needle is preheated.

The control group consisted of 30 participants who received only lifestyle advice and enlarged prostate information once a week for four weeks.

The researchers asked the participants to complete the standard international prostate symptom score survey (IPSS) and a quality-of-life survey. In addition, they asked them to record the frequency of their nightly urination. They collected scores on these indices before treatment, after treatment, and four weeks later.

The researchers measured the participants’ maximum urinary flow, their average flow rate, and their prostate volume before and after treatment.

They discovered the following.

1. The treatment group had better IPSS scores, quality of life scores, and fewer nightly urination breaks after treatment and after the four-week observation period.

2. The treatment group had better scores on the above-mentioned three indices than the non-treatment group did.

3. There was no difference in maximum urinary flow, average flow rate, and prostate volume between the two groups after treatment.

4. There were no negative effects of the fire needling on the treatment group.

This means that fire needling can reduce lower urinary tract symptoms, improve quality of life, and reduce nighttime bathroom visits for men with an enlarged prostate.

Acupuncture may sound scary, especially when it involves a burning hot needle.

Fortunately, there is an easier way to cure enlarged prostate completely. All it takes is a few simple lifestyle changes explained here…
