Scientists at Britain’s University of Dundee and University College looked at study participants’ blood pressure and risk of stroke, comparing those who take supplements in a dissolvable fizzy form and those taking the same supplement in the same dose but in other ways.

They found that using a dissolvable fizzy compound places the user at a 16% increased risk of a stroke and dramatically increases the user’s blood pressure.

Why?

One main ingredient is sodium bicarbonate, which gives a product its characteristic fizz.
