Four Minerals Heal ED in Men The prevalence of ED has been increasing over the past few decades, and ED is affecting younger men than before.

That may all be about to change.

A new study published in the journal Frontiers in Nutrition reveals that ED is caused by deficiencies of four essential minerals in men’s diets.

These minerals can be obtained from various common foods or dirt cheap in supplement form from local supermarkets.

The researchers obtained their data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey that monitors the health and nutrition of American adults through interviews and medical examinations over time.

They examined data on 3,745 men: 1,096 with ED and 2,649 without ED.

After comparing the men’s ED status with their food intake, the researchers discovered that men with ED were much more likely to consume low amounts of four minerals:

- Magnesium
- Zinc
- Copper
- Selenium.

Those who consumed the recommended daily amounts of magnesium, zinc, copper, and selenium had a much smaller ED risk.

The biggest reason why people no longer consume the recommended amounts of these minerals is that refined carbohydrates have taken over the diets of many of us. Unfortunately, foods such as white bread, doughnuts, muffins, biscuits, cookies, and French fries contain almost no nutrients at all.

These four essential minerals are present in foods that are popular, tasty, and affordable.

Magnesium is present in dark chocolate, avocado, almonds, cashews, beans, lentils, tofu, brown rice, pumpkin seeds, flaxseeds, salmon, potato skins, bananas, raisins, kale, and spinach.

Zinc is available in oysters, crab, lobster, beef, lamb, pork, beans, lentils, chickpeas, mushrooms, hempseed, pumpkin seed, almonds, cashews, pine nuts, milk, cheese, and eggs.

Copper is abundant in organ meats, oysters, crab, salmon, shiitake mushrooms, almonds, sesame seeds, Swiss chard, spinach, dark chocolate, and soy foods.

For selenium, eat more Brazil nuts, tuna, sardines with bones, beef, pork, turkey, chicken, milk, cheese, eggs, brown rice, oatmeal, beans, mushrooms, cashews, and bananas.
