Natural Cure For Enlarged Prostate DiscoveredThe traditional medical system claims that enlarged prostate is unavoidable as you age and only partially treatable using harsh drugs with serious side effects.

But a new a literature review study in the journal The Aging Male turns this outdated thinking on its head.

It lists simple diet and lifestyle changes that can prevent and reverse enlarged prostate without side effects.

So what did the researchers find from the available research?

1. Lycopene supplementation can reduce enlarged prostate risk. This is a strong antioxidant found in red and pink fruits like tomato, watermelon, and apricot. Supplements are widely available.

2. Zinc supplementation or plenty of foods rich in zinc can cut your risk. These include shellfish, beans, meat, hemp seed, and peanuts.

3. Increased Vitamin D consumption via supplements or sun exposure both decreases the risk of developing an enlarged prostate and reduces prostate size if it is already enlarged.

4. An enlarged prostate is more common among people who eat meat and very few vegetables and less common among people who enjoy a plant-based diet.

5. Fruits rich in beta-carotene, lutein, or Vitamin C can reduce prostate size and urinary symptoms. These include cantaloupe, apricot, bell peppers (especially the green ones), kiwi fruit, grapes, oranges, and strawberries.

6. A high-fat diet should be avoided, as it causes inflammation in the prostate. These studies specifically mention butter and margarine.

7. Flaxseed can prevent cell growth in the prostate and is widely available as a supplement.

8. Men with a higher body mass index score and greater abdominal fat storage are more likely to have bad urinary symptoms due to their enlarged prostates. As such, the authors recommend diet and exercise to control body weight and fat storage.

9. Similarly, metabolic syndrome is a serious risk factor for urinary symptoms, which suggests that physical exercise and limited intake of sugar and refined carbohydrates may help.

The biggest finding of this study, in my opinion, is not the specific lifestyle advice—but rather that the medical system is finally (but reluctantly) admitting that enlarged prostate is caused by lifestyle factors and can be cured with lifestyle changes.
