A still unpublished study presented at the 2015 Cranberry Health Research Conference in Wisconsin brought good news to both cardiovascular disease sufferers and cranberry juice lovers.
The team made their subjects drink 450 mL of cranberry juice, made by mixing a cranberry concentrate with water. The participants received different concentrations of the juice, from pure water to pure cranberry concentrate.
All the subjects that drank the cranberry juice at a concentration of 25 percent and higher showed improvement in blood flow and arterial stiffness, and those who drank the highest concentration cranberry juice also displayed a decrease in systolic blood pressure.
This is good news, as many commercial cranberry juices are composed of 25 to 27 percent of cranberries. If, however, you also want the blood pressure decrease, you have to buy cranberries and juice them yourself.
The authors attributed the power of cranberries to their highly antioxidant polyphenols.
This is not the first time scientists have discovered the power of cranberry polyphenols. The Journal Advances in Nutrition published a literature review of 150 previous studies in 2013 in which the authors concluded that cranberry polyphenols were especially effective at reducing the recurrence of urinary tract infections, lowering blood pressure, lowering cholesterol, and reducing arterial stiffness.
The research team led by Jeffrey Blumberg explained that the polyphenols in cranberries differed from those in other fruits and berries, which may account for their powerful cardiovascular effects. Other fruits and berries have B-type proanthocyanidin, while cranberries have A-type proanthocyanidin.

I did read this article and I am and have been drinking the Cranberry drink for now about a month, honestly, I have seen very little change in fact none. My blood pressure is 160/80. I will continue to drink this every day for at least 2 months and then will let you know if I see any changes.
