Sometimes studies reveal the most surprising results. How, for example, the tiniest, most effortless changes can make the difference between life or death for you.
That’s the case with a recent Belgian research study. The researchers discovered how exercising 20 minutes earlier in the day (in the same way for the same time) can make the difference adding 3 pounds of weight or not and developing or curing type 2 diabetes.
In the study, the researchers talked a group of young, healthy men into stuffing themselves with 30% more calories and 50% more fat than they normally consumed.
Then, they split the men into three groups. 1/3 did no exercise, 1/3 worked out intensively four times a week after breakfast, and 1/3 worked out in the same way, but before breakfast.
No surprise that the non-exercise group added six pounds of fat in six week and began developing insulin resistance. The men who worked out after breakfast added half the weight (three pounds on average) and also began developing insulin resistance.
But, the group that worked out before breakfast added no weight and kept optimal insulin levels despite overeating.
Working out before breakfast seemed to boost their metabolism throughout the day, so they burned more calories than the men from the other two groups, all day long.
This is another bit of proof that giving your body a break from time to time is essential to optimal health. In this case, the blood sugar level is brought drastically down (with exercise) before it is boosted up with breakfast. Your body has, for this reason, space to “clean” the insulin receptors before being overloaded again.
Similarly, an extreme low-calorie diet for several weeks has been proven to help type 2 diabetes patients to completely cure themselves.
But healing disease doesn’t have to be very painful. What’s important is to have a solid strategy in place. Here is the exact 3-step strategy my mother used to completely cure her type 2 diabetes permanently…

The men in the study were healthy, so why have a title suggesting exercising before breakfast “cures” diabetes?
