Isn’t it the best when you can eat what you love and at the same time heal your type 2 diabetes? This doesn’t happen too often, does it?
But in a new study published in BMC Medicine, a delicious treat was proven to reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes by a whopping 18%.
Plus, this same treat, according to previous studies, lowers high blood pressure and body weight, and improves IBS and overall health.
In the new study, researchers pulled out data from three other studies adding up to almost 200,000 people.
By the end of the study period, 15,000 participants had developed type 2 diabetes. But those who consumed at least 28 grams of yogurt daily were 18% less likely to progress to type 2 diabetes.
And it wasn’t the milk itself that was beneficial. No, there was absolutely no data showing any type 2 diabetes benefits from drinking milk, eating cheese or any other dairy products.
But this is not the only disease that is improved by yogurt. It improves, sometimes completely cures, IBS (Irritable bowel syndrome). It also lowers blood pressure and improves overall cardiovascular health.

So what is it about yogurt that is so special? Most likely it’s the probiotics that boost the microbial flora in the digestive system, which improves insulin sensitivity.
If that’s the case, you’ll benefit from all fermented foods such as tempeh, miso, pickles, and sauerkraut.
When choosing yogurt, get plain yogurt. Flavored yogurt is loaded with added sugar and other additives. If you want to sweeten it, add honey or fruits to taste and mix it up in a blender.
Now, as impressive as 18% is to type 2 diabetes, it’s not enough to completely cure it. So you want to take other steps.
Here is the 3-step strategy my mother used to reverse her deadly type 2 diabetes completely…
I love yogurt. Especially Greek yogurt. Throw some honey on it and it’s better than any dessert.
