Getting enough of this vitamin that kills high blood pressure might be one of the easiest things you’ll do today (seriously!).
…And for every 10% increase in levels of this vitamin, you’ll be reducing your risk of heart disease by 8%. How’s that for a good deal?
A large study examining the effect of Vitamin D on high blood pressure was presented at a conference in European Society of Human Genetics, France. For the research, data from 35 studies involving nearly 146,500 people was analyzed.
The people analyzed were those of European descent based in Europe and North America.
It was found that a high level of Vitamin D in the blood was associated with lower incidence of high blood pressure. More precisely, for every 10 percent increase in Vitamin D levels, an 8 percent decrease in the risk of developing high blood pressure.
Considering the high costs and side-effects of common blood pressure drugs, this comes as welcome news. Statistics reveal that anything from 40 to 75 percent of the population are deficient of this vital vitamin.
Getting exposed to moderate amount of sunshine is a good way to get this vitamin. It is also present in food like eggs, salmon, tuna, milk, yogurt and orange juice. Many cereals and food products add Vitamin D too which can otherwise be obtained through supplements if necessary.
So if you suffer from high blood pressure, get your physician to check your Vitamin D profile.
Adding Vitamin D to your diet/supplements can be an easy and simple way to deal with high blood pressure.
But again make sure you have your vitamin D level tested before taking supplements. Because too much of a good thing is still too much.
nice great info
One thing everyone should be aware of when talking about vitamin D is that it’s only beneficial if you’re lacking vitamin D. You should therefore have your doctor check your vitamin D level. If it’s good, be happy if not, supplement.

GPs do not usually check ACTIVE Vit D. THis is the important one – not the storage amount they go for.
Equally, they do not measure cellular magnesium but prefer the unhelpful Serum level. This is adjusted by the body to maintain safe limits regardless of the tissue levels.
Excess D will deplete Magnesium -so if on large synthetic D, get a Red Blood Cell mg test- if you can manage to find an aware GP. This is a crucial element need for many [hundreds] enzymatic reactions in the body
The best D is natural sort in EVCLO [ fish oil ] and will be a better source, by far.
Sunshine is the best, cheapest & self regulating source of Vit D, anyway.
