If you’ve been diagnosed with arthritis, you’re probably faced with both very tight diet restrictions and the use of extremely dangerous prescription medications.
This therefore should come as a great relief: researchers from University of Michigan Health System have discovered extremely powerful arthritis healing in a very common tea (found in all supermarkets).
The ingredients in this tea were found to block inflammation of the joints, therefore help eliminate both arthritis pain and stiffness.
A research team in University of Michigan Health System discovered that green tea is extremely beneficial for easing arthritis inflammation and pain. They discovered this using a very complicated, but detail lab research.
You see, Synovial fibroblasts are cells that form a lining of tissue around the capsule of joints. The team isolated these fibroblasts from patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis.
The cells were then soaked in chemical compound called epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), the active ingredient in green tea.
Here comes the interesting part…
Now the cells were stimulated with a protein called IL-1B that is known to cause inflammation of the joints.
Amazingly, after being pre-exposed to EGCG, the joint cells were able to block IL-1B’s ability to cause inflammation in the joint cells.
EGCG was also found to effectively block IL – 6, cyclooxygenase-2 (Cox-2) and prostaglandin E2, all of which are responsible for causing inflammation.
Green tea is not just good for rheumatoid arthritis but also all other autoimmune diseases such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular health. It also helps lower blood pressure and loses weight – just to name a few health benefits of green tea.
One word of warning: greedy ice-tea makers have lately been jumping on the “Green Tea Band Wagon” mass producing pre-made Green Tea Ice Tea.
The fact is, almost none of those Ice Teas has any significant amount of real Green Tea or EGCG. They’re instead loaded with sugar and artificial and natural flavors.
For best results, visit your local health food store and buy high quality green tea and make your own. That’s the only way to know for sure you’re getting the active ingredients from Green Tea.
