Medical researchers keep making significant progress in discovering new ways to treat various health conditions.
In spite of that, the main culprits of arthritis still remain little- known.
However, researchers from Harvard Medical School in Boston may finally have discovered the cause of this mysterious auto immune disorder.
As strange as it sounds the cause of Arthritis lives in our gut!

It has been known for decades that bacteria living in our gut (gut microbiota) plays a significant role in the state of our health.
Good gut bacteria supports our immune system and helps fight dangerous germs.
Other types of bacteria can, however, cause significant damage to our health. And as a recent study reveals a little “gut bug” might be the one to blame for Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Harvard University researchers analyzed fecal samples from 114 New York residents.
The researchers identified four different group of study subjects:
1) Subjects who did not suffer arthritis.
2) People suffering other types of arthritis than Rheumathoid Arthritis.
3) Thos who had been diagnosed and living with Rheumathoid Arthritis for years.
4) Individual recently diagnosed with Rheumathoid Arthritis. This group was particularly important as they haven’t started the treatment for RA yet.
Researchers were shocked to discover that as much as 75 percent of individuals of Rhemathoid Arthritis group were infected with bacteria called Prevotella copri.
In a healthy control group, this bacteria was found only 21 % of the time.
Although more studies need to be done to build a “strong case” against this tiny bacteria, researchers share that this is a significant finding that could completely change the way Rheumatoid Arthritis is treated today.

Is Arthritis Caused By These Bacteria?
If this article is true, it could be revolutionary! Get rid of the bug, wipe out RA altogether! Right now I am doing a pretty good job of controlling my RA. I take Methotrexate but I also eat Greek yogurt daily so that may be doing as much to help me as the actual medication by getting rid of the bad bacteria.
Bonnie, that is a good website that you're on…lots of good info…I've read their newsletter for some time now
About a month and a half after hip replacement surgery, I developed gas in my colon but I did not have diarrhea. Then I developed bad neck and shoulder pain. I went to three chiropractors and one physical therapist in an attempt to get the pain under control. I kept trying to stop the gas by changing my diet. I finally went to my primary care physician who prescribed a weeks course of Cipro (antibiotic) and Flygol (antifungal). That stopped the gut problem but meanwhile I had developed rheumatoid symptoms, i.e. swollen knuckles and very sore shoulders. Thanks to the help of my primary care physician I got to see a rheumatologist who ordered blood work. My C-ractive protein was 50 vs a normal of about 10 and my sedimentation rate was about 5 times normal. Thankfully the rheumatoid arthritis test was negative. The rheumatologist prescribed prednisone which I took for a time. I live in Las Cruces NM and I also went to see Dr. Bert Berkson who calls his practice “Integrated Medicine”. Dr. Berkson’s standard therapies are intravenous alpha lipoic acid and low dose naltrexone. I have been taking both of these and I have been able to discontinue predinisone.
In conclusion, gut problems ca lead to joint problems!
It has been known for quite some time that Helico pylori is implicated in RA, Stomach Ulcers and many other conditions where the epithelial wall linings are invaded by this nasty bacterial parasite. Our own daughter suffered with lung lymphoma and my wife detected H.Pylori with her EAV machine. Later she was diagnosed with MALT lymphoma of the lung, a very rare condition for a young woman who was only 37 at the time. She is now 45 and is virtually free of this disease and that is because she takes Anti Bacterial Homeopathics prescribed by her Mother and has also used Dr Hulda Clark Zappers, found at zappertek.com. My wife got into Complementary Medicine, because she was diagnosed with RA when in her mid 20s. She is now nearly 65 and totally free of this so called incurable disease. So I am not surprised that yet another nasty critter is being linked to RA….
