The health benefits of getting optimum amounts of vitamins and minerals are many, and people are even finding out that just a mild deficiency can have widespread consequences, especially for vitamins that affect many processes in the body.
One vitamin in particular is critical in regulating everything in the body from the immune response to bone health. Lack of it has been linked to type 2 diabetes and arthritis.
And now a new study reveals it’s essential to bring blood pressure down. On the average, people lowered their blood pressure 4 points by adding in this one vitamin – some, much more.
What is the vitamin? You may be surprised.
Recent studies from a number of universities and hospitals, like Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston are noting that for many Americans, vitamin D deficiency launches a cacophony of health woes.
The study revealed that people with the worst vitamin D deficiencies are also the ones with the highest blood pressure.
Many doctors are taking notice as well, opting to look at blood tests to see if a hypertensive patient may be experiencing a deficiency. Simply adding the proper supplementation may even mean the difference in whether or not a person might be able to avoid prescription drugs as treatment.
Not only does vitamin D directly impact blood pressure health, but it is also critical in a number of other systems.
Vitamin D allows blood vessels to relax, thereby lowering blood pressure. However, if there is a deficiency, a glitch in any one of the other systems will add to a mounting blood pressure problem.
Diseases like certain cancers, type 2 diabetes, arthritis, infectious diseases and heart disease are all blamed in large part to low vitamin D. Any of these diseases by themselves will also increase blood pressure due to the added stress on the body. Potentially, if you solve the deficiency you can wipe out several insults all at once.

All true, Christian; My Vit. D3 was at “7”. It is now either 29 or 30 and it has taken 3 years to get it up to that high! My doctor wants it nearer 100, however, taking 10,000 units several times a week (3) at least, is not getting it higher. My Dr. will no longer sign for labs to see my D3 levels, but I keep on taking high dosed of D3. I am not in as much pain as I was; Neither my arthritis, or my immune disorder pain is terrible, and my emotions are much more in average range. If my military doctor had not taken the time to research my symptoms, I might be dead now. He told me he had never seen a live person with as low a level of D3 as I was, and promptly put me on larger doses of Vit. D, Iron, and Calcium.
I appreciate all the articles your newsletter publishes, and I do more research on your research! Some day, I may get relieved of more of my problematic symptoms! I recently found Magnesium in a liquid form which absorbs into the skin of feet, arms and legs easily, and I like this method, no more upset stomach or digestive upset due to oral magnesium. Your newsletter have had some articles on magnesium. I use Trans-Dermal Magnesium Oil, which is not an oil at all, but a nice liquid which disappears on your skin immediately. Spray a few times in hands, and press hands together and rub it all over arms legs and feet (not eyes, or face) then in 10 minutes, put water in hands and do the same thing, without the magnesium oil, and what you had put on your skin, absorbs more magnesium into your body, saving you money! Blue Heron Health News is the only health newsletter I will always want to receive in my e-mail. Thank you, Christian Goodman, and your great researchers and writers for a job well done! georgia

Vitiam D may be low for a number of reasons in that the diet may still have more than enough. But there is a immunity problem the person is allergic.
It also acts as a steroid.
some doctors are prescribing it as such.
I read the article regarding Vitamin D but what is the correct amount to be taking as a supplement per day? Thank you
I take D3. What is the difference between D3 and D? Do we need both? How much should we take?
