Heart attack is the number 1 cause of death in almost every country of the Western world. We all know someone who has suffered one, and in the back of our heads we all worry about someday having a heart attack ourselves.
You’re probably aware of many things you can do to minimize the risk of developing heart attack: eat healthy, exercise moderately, lower blood pressure and cholesterol and many other things.
But did you know that heart attack is more frequent in a certain time of the day and during some specific activities? This is the time that you should pay extra attention to how you feel.
That’s why in today’s feature article I’m going to tell you about 6 scary times for heart attack:
1) Early bird doesn’t just get the worm
A recent Harvard study revealed that your risk of heart attack rises 40% in the morning. You see, the morning is the time when your body wants you to be most active. Therefore, it loads you with adrenaline and other stress hormones, which increases your blood pressure, creates demand for oxygen and forces your heart beat harder.
Since most of us don’t drink much water during the night, your body is also partly dehydrated, which makes your blood thicker and harder to pump. All this puts strain on the heart.
One of the healthiest things you can do is drink a big glass of water first thing in the morning. Also try to schedule things so you can take your time the first hour you’re awake without stress.
2) Another Manic Monday
As if the morning weren’t bad enough, Monday mornings are even riskier. 20% more heart attacks occur on Monday mornings than other mornings. This is, of course due to the stress of going back to work after the weekend. Not only the emotional part but also the shift in schedule.
If possible, try to wake up the same time every day of the week. Staying up late and then sleeping in on Saturday and Sunday morning and then having to wake up early on Monday puts quite a strain on your system. Choosing a career where you love waking up to go to work is extremely helpful as well.
3) Stuffing your mouth stuffs your heart
The plaque in the arteries that causes heart attack develops over many years. One meal is not going to suddenly cause narrow arteries. However, studies have shown that big, high fat, high calorie meals put strain on your system that constricts blood vessels and can trigger heart attack.
Indulging yourself in good food occasionally doesn’t have to be harmful. Just keep the portion sizes moderate and eat slowly.
4) On the Potty
Moving the bowels is one of the most private things we can do. Most of us want to have privacy and not be distracted. And we definitely don’t want to experience heart attack at that point.
Bowel movements however, especially if you’re constipated, put extreme pressure on the chest, slowing down the blood returning back to the heart.
To lower your risk of heart attack on the potty, make sure you eat enough fiber (at least 25 gr/day), drink enough water and avoid stress.
5) Not all exercises are created equal
Exercising is one of the key elements to improve cardiovascular health and avoid heart attack. Too much too quickly, however, can have the opposite effect.
If you’re not in good physical shape, begin slowly with walking and light jogging. As your health and stamina improve, you can and should attend more vigorous exercises to strengthen your heart.
Sex is, in the same way, extremely heart healthy as long as the intensity is not more than the body can handle.
6) Any kind of stressful event
Surveys have revealed that most people fear public speaking above anything. The stress of standing in front of hundreds of people has taken many lives in the form of heart attack.
Take precautions before doing anything you know creates anxiety in your space. If you’re afraid of flying, learn relaxation techniques before taking your flight. If you have to speak in front of a crowd, practice with a small group till you feel confident.
There are, of course, many other situations where hear attack can occur. Always be aware, especially if you feel any physical or emotional strain. And always be on the safe side. It’s better to call 911 with a false alarm than needing it after it’s too late.
However, it is best to never suffer heart attack in the first place. Getting your cholesterol and blood pressure under control almost (not completely but almost) bullet-proofs you against dying from a heart attack or stroke.

very helpful post for heart patient. Heart patient should follow these things so he can stay away from heart problem. Generic Zebeta is used to treat congestive heart failure as well as chest pain. For more information visit http://www.canadiandrugsaver.com/heart-and-blood-pressure/zebeta_356.html.
Doctor Carey Reams developed RBTI (the Reams Biological Theory of Ionization). He found there were two types of heart attacks which are fully preventable by lifestyle changes. What he called a pectoris heart attack is caused by a buildup in the blood of urea, a protein waste. Unclean flesh foods such as pork and shellfish are the main culprits here, as well as under-hydration. What he called an angina heart attack is caused by plaque in the arteries. The plaque is caused by the body retaining too much salt, which irritates the blood vessel walls causing the body to coat them with cholesterol to protect them. Drinking distilled water systematically as Dr. Reams taught enables the body to take apart the plaque as the distilled water removes the salt. It also prevents new plaque from forming, regardless of blood cholesterol levels.
A great helpful article. Thankyou
great article, and it could save a persons life. However ,in medical they have one number that they want to use to fit everybody and it just doesn’t work that way. If I eat 25gr fiber a day I would have to live on the potty. Half that works for me with no problem. Others may need more if they are taking certain medication that cause constipation. Also each person has to adjust their water intake some may 4 glasess and another person may need 6-8 glasses a day.
very helpfull, it opened my eyes.
Take note of what the writer of this article said, 'Heart attacks are the number one cause of death in the 'WESTERN WORLD.' That statement alone is the biggest clue as to the cause, and that cause is lifestyle, primarily our diet. There is nothing that is natural that has not been made unnatural by the western way of life and its big brother, big corporate food companies, and its pursuit of profit at the expense of everything.
The land, the animals, and we who eat all that comes from the food chain, end up eating all the mismangement of the natural in this corporate food chain of chemicalised, processed, additives, intense farming programme as established by big business. Money, not man is the main concern; greed, not need, is the investors goal. Not until the individual comes to see that the greedy system is our enemy, and the need to step outside of it and look elsewhere for food of quality, will we improve our health and well being, and drastically lessen the risk of the many diseases that are now epidemic in society.
The proof of people's who do not have heart attacks or the degenerative diseases that plague Western Society are there to be investigated. From the arctic to the tropics these people exist. So what do they eat. The answer becomes clear as a pattern emerges that unites mankind in a very similiar basic diet of foods with unique additions to their diet because of where they live, that have sustained mankind in all parts of the world for millenia, with none of the sicknesses that are now so prevelant.
I cannot but recommend a man who has spent over fifty years of his life on such research, not opinionated, not hearsay, but real life facts of a world of mankind and their diet covering thousands of years. That is the proof that stands all examination, and I could not recommmend a finer book on nutrition and health than that which was written by a Barry Groves called TRICK and TREAT.
Not only will you have a healthy heart, but a healthy body to go with it.
Thank you Micheal Cook , you are so right.
thank you for the article on how to start taking the right precautions to minimize and reduce the chances of a heart attack.
thank you for all the information.GOD bless you!
Good article. Bad picture. This doesn't look like a heart attack picture. It's more like what I'd see walking into the room with zombie make-up. Plus the girls don't look at all like heart patients usually look.
Some really good advice here.
very beautifully presented all true i can add only what i believe that is first i believe in GOD 2nd health 3rd family community etc. and 4th is
money,if we will take care of health the way in the priority
it will add to the target of no heart attack,of course it is other topic how to
take care of health. THANKS
Thank you for all the good advice given in the Blue Heron news. Very sensible advice.
Careful with the cholesterol comment!
Research has found low cholesterol is a greater marker for a heart attack than high cholesterol.
Micheal,
I agree about the toxic diets being responsible for ill health. People have to realise that food manufacturers don’t exist to provide busy people with nourishing food. They exist to maximise profits for their shareholders by using the cheapest rubbish they can. There’d be more nutrition in the boxes.
The toxic culture is the next thing. It distresses me to see so many people wasting their precious lives working long hours and spending hours daily traveling just to make enough money to live. Our economic system is so wrong and an insult to the creator who made this beautiful world for us to enjoy. As humans we’re meant to spend some times sitting around, laughing, singing and dancing. So-called “primitive” cultures do.
