High blood pressure used to be a condition that was considered something for only seniors or people with other diseases.
However, surprising research from the World Health Organization highlights unsettling blood pressure and blood glucose trends in a recent study.
Findings by the World Health Organization reveal that almost 30% of men over 25 have high blood pressure and about 25% of women do, too. This problem was once considered trouble for only the older population, but recent trends are showing it to be affecting younger and younger people.
At least 10% of men and women over the age of 25 are also showing a problem with high blood sugar. Once completely unheard of decades ago, high blood sugar and the resulting type 2 diabetes are starting to affect groups who haven’t even hit 30 years old yet.

Guess Why!!??
It is because the young today consume way too much sugar in its fructose form.
They drink energy drinks, fruit juices, Pepsi and Coke etc., such that today we consume 130Kg of sugar a year!!!
Low fat foods have added sugar for flavour. It’s everywhere. A sweet poison.
Now see the chickens come home to roost!
Too much sugar and junkfood might be part of the problem John Dyle, but it is not all of it. I have diabetes 2 and have not been drinking pop or junk food. I generally buy fruits and vegetables for the most part and make my own home ground wheat for our bread. We lived quite healthy ( not organic food, but much better than the average north american.) I was probably 40 pounds over weight though. In any case non of the foods above were the culprits in my case, and I still don’t know what was. I suspect that the bread might have been part of it since my blood sugar shoots up with bread products . And yes, even the sprouted form. When I look at my case of eating pretty healthy I wonder why not even more people have problems who really do eat junk food. There must be a mystery reason out there in addition to the “too much sugar and pop” reason. Thankfully I am working on the problem and do have my diabetes controlled with food, exercise and a small dose of medicine.
Spread the word Art. People need to know the real truth about disease and how to go about reversing diseases.
John and Helen, I agree with you both. I am not diabetic but I am over weight and I like bread. I think I am lucky because of my genetics and I walk about 20 miles a week. I do have friends who are diabetic though and the common thread was very large amounts of soda consumed in their younger years. My one friend said he would drink up to 3 1 liter bottles in a day. My God that is a lot of sugar. They both claim as you Helen that they to have a problem with bread. I think some people are more prone to diabetes than others. I think its sad they are seeing high blood pressure and diabetes in people in their 20’s. Now thats a problem. I can’t remember anyone who had high blood pressure or diabetes when I was in my 20’s 20 years ag
Useful information for younger and old.
Here in the Philippines natural medicines, local and Chinese, are everywhere. However, I suspect PDC us insering itself in a robust way. Local people, though, are still wary of 'pills and tablets and powders' and go for herbs and such they find in the fields. T
he biggest problem here is the consumption of fatty pork and too much rice and I notice that there are many relatively young people who have a western diet are dying suddenly which is put down to heart failure as no autopsies are carried out. People seem to be getting larger since I have been here over 15 years and that diabetes and high BP are big and growing problems.
America is becoming a basket case and with increasing compusion and intrusion in the health arena and limited access to natural products it brings to mind the 60s pop song by Zager and Evans 'In the Year 2525' – everything is in the pill you take today. Thank God there is freedom here – as yet.
I really love this article. Kindly keep me posted for any updates. Thanks and More power.
Once you are a diabetic, you'll be foever a diabetic. But, diabetics can live normally provided they observe proper diet and have exercise. My diabetes is almost 34 years already but still in good shape. I don't eat too much rice and if still hungry I eat sweet potato but limited, too. Don't eat to the extreme. Self-discipline is very important once you're a diabetic. It's really difficult having diabetes.
High Fructose Corn Syrup – the sweetener (“sugar”) used in processed foods to make up for the natural flavor taken out (with the NATURAL FAT) – is NOT sugar as we know it!!
You said all right Art.It is really an uphill battle to neutralize the influence of these giant Pharmaceutical Companies, they dictate the direction where we are going
I always believe that an unholy alliances exist between the different food outlets, doctors, hospitals, drug stores and all the Giant Pharmaceutical Companies. People love to eat and these food outlets serves the most unhealthy foods the triggers different kind of health problem, so once you acquired a health problem you pay your doctor a visit who in turn prescribed a medicine you will have to buy from the drug stores who gets their medicine supplies from the Pharmaceutical Companies, while the hospital is the final destination if you then acquired a more serious health problem. This vicious cycle has been going on like a well engineered process that will benefits all the party concern. Now, we are witnessing the on set of health problems among the young people because we love to bring them to these food outlets. Therefore, I am not surprise to learn the growing numbers of diabetic and hypertensive young people.
So what are YOU going to do about it? 🙂
You’re right on! Even our local hospital diatician tells people they won’t lose weight if they eat high fructose corn syrup. Read labels. Some manufactures are wiseing up because I found catsup labeled NO HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP. Also remember that corn, wheat and soy products are GMO unless there’s an organic label, or the label says No Genetically Modified foods. Another thing to check is the Ph in your urine, which should be more alkaline than acid. The tape test is worth doing as cancer and other diseases love acid and hate alkaline bodies. You need both, but the correct balancd. Unfortunately, dairy is acid, though cottage cheese is high in protein and we need 30 grams daily. So just watch it.
I discovered that some doctors don't believe in herbal/supplementary medicines or d like….I think they are just after promos/ benefits from such Pharmaceutical Companies… and by promoting these free medicines offered them by medreps who supply them ..they could get free seminars/trainings abroad… ….. indeed…there's conspiracy among them…
one thing more, they would loose their clients who are like depositing money in a piggy bank……
Well, Lemuel the only thing you can do is avoid as much as possible eating in fast food outlets like Jollibee, Mc Donalds and the likes to save you from seeing your greedy doctor, thusyou don't have to buy those medicines produced by the greedy giant Pharmaceutical Companies..
Nene, this practice by most doctors has been going on many moons ago and obviously they will never recommend alternative medicines like herbal food supplements a competitor of medicines produced by the giant Pharmaceutical Companies. I believe it is against the policy of these Pharmaceutical Companies to see us healthy because it is not good for their business. The shocking truth that prescribed medicines kills more people than the illness itself only proves the true motives of these greedy Pharmaceutical Companies. It is more than a conspiracy but a true business partnership with us at the receiving end.
if we had known green barley before, maybe nanay would have lived a little longer….likewise with my dad….
so sir lemuel, the best thing, i think, WE should do is to make our bodies fit…. and tell ourselves…. BAWAL ANG MAGKASAKIT… hehehe
Hi Christian Goodman,
I thank you for your alert on the World Health Organisation’s findings on hypertension and diabetes. It is quite informative. Helen’s response is also an eye-opener. I am certainly getting closer to understanding more about hypertension and diabetes. I won’t hesitate to suspect bread products as culprit. But, is wheat bread that we commonly buy from the shops also among the bread products that heighten diabetes? Otherwise, how is that a low blood sugar person for so long in life, have suddenly shifted to boarderline high. Please I will like to know more. Thanks. Ndu
