One organ turns up again as the location for a blood pressure trigger, according to new research out of London.
A study funded by the British Heart Foundation and published in the journal Hypertension revealed that the kidneys are again at the center of high blood pressure problems.
Researchers at St. Gorge’s University in London looked at protein levels in the main artery that supplies the kidneys and found that a specific protein that functions in the body to relax can start a domino effect if lacking or absent.
Having a deficiency signals the kidneys to produce a substance called renin, which tells the blood vessels throughout the body to constrict, which then results in elevated blood pressure.
Simple way to naturally reduce high blood pressure…
Very informative news.
Very interesting informations.
VERY INTERESTING, I LIKE MORE INFORMATION, PLIS.
Yes this is very good information comming out. This would explain why the doctors to date have been baffled as to why I have high blood pressure. And I was put through every kind of test and scans that are out there and they still couldn't figure it out.
The result of all my Tests are O.K.
inccluding the Kidneys, so, there has to be an’other natural thing that I didn’t discover yet. bina
Restoring normal subtle nerve flow by checking thoracic 10 , 11,12 (kidney place ) for subluxation will help kidney function.
So how do you combat this problem then? could it be by drinking plenty of water? after all water dilutes the blood and makes it thinner and dehydration causes the blood to thicken.
some blood pressure medication mimics the effect of drinking two litres of water a day…so do that, instead of taking meds, that have bad side effects!
HaHa…Barefoot Doctor (www.barefootdoctorworld.com) has known this for a long time
and recommends several accupressure points to stimulate the kidneys and thus reduce blo
blood pressure. You will need to join his site to access the archive and get his regular updates and much, much more. Indeed it was he who introduced me to Christians site, and I have bought the excellent blood pressure reduction programme.
I was using a direct renin blocker, till recently taking myself of the drug. I was unaware of the protein connection- but the drug has been taken off trial since then, due to adverse side effects in susceptible patients.
Many drugs are not monitored for long term effects ,in my view -or for good mixing with other drugs, that may be being taken together with them.
Many drugs for BP work for a while and then lose effect -leaving only the downside effects, but I still take a [non-thiazide] diuretic and a receptor blocker with some success.
I have the same problem, perfect heart but high blood pressure. This year I started seeing a kidney and blood pressure Doctor and I am seeing very good improvement than I ever had before.
Just take care of yourself.
Yes, the Renin/Angiotensin/Aldosterone mechanism. That's what ACE inhibitors and ARBs are intended to counteract. However, what's the protein? What foods contain this "vital" substance? Your "natural" method does work, but only to a small degree. It does not counteract the powerful effects of the R/A/A mechanism. Your "natural" method is simply an offshoot of Yoga breathing techniques.
Great info. I bought the BP program, but never thot. to increase water intake. I am not a big water person walking around with a bottle. I like milk, but now I’ll concentrate on water & breathing escercises & left right, left right walking while I still am able at 81& a half as we used to say as kids. Not that far gone yet, thank God & listen to your body messages.
WHAT IS THIS “SPECIFIC PROTEIN”? WHERE DO YOU GET IT? HOW IS IT ADMINISTERED? WHAT FOODS CONTAIN IT? ANSWERS TO THESE QUESTIONS WOULD BE VERY USEFUL AND HELPFUL.
THANKS FOR YOUR CONTINUED PURSUIT OF THE BLOOD PRESSURE PROBLEM.
This may be a factor in my high blood pressure as well. Mine started to escalate when my adrenals were so shot that I started loading up on a Chinese Kidney Tonic to beef up my energy and over did it. That and hereditary factors.
I wonder where vegetarianism comes into play. I sure would like to know the amino acid they are referring to. And, I wonder if glutathione is part of the equation.
So hard to figure…. I drink up to 1 gal. of filtered water a day. I’m on a low dose BP medicine( as is my Dad , brother, and fraternal grandmother) We are all type A blood. Cortisol levels are higher in A’s than in any other blood type as they don’t deal with stress the way other blood types do. I know when I drop the added weight my BP. goes down naturally. Wonder if they looked into that. Also, my kidney tests all come out good too.
My bloodpressure was fine until I had a heart pacemaker fitted. A diligent search of the internet produces a few with a similar experience. Either we have all jumped to a wrong conclusion or that is a very rare side effect.
When my pacemaker was fitted the surgeon had to work quite hard to find a wide enough blood vessel, maybe there is a clue there. Did he end up using a rather narrow one or are the size of my blood vessels a clue? My arteries are clear of deposits all except one very small patch.
I have got my BP down from a very scary 265/190 to 140/75. Acupuncture and relaxation did it plus homeopathy. I weaned myself off my prescription drugs very VERY slowly, hooray! I am a 64 yr old femail, BTW.
I have a natural way to lower blood pressure but it’s not easy. Starting in January 2011 I increased my cardio workout to 5 times a week at 30 minutes at a time. I used a treadmill but I think anything that gets your heartbeat high enough would work. That means 70% – 90% of your maximum heart rate. To find it you need to take 220 and subtract your age. That’s your maximum heart rate. Make sure you’re healthy enough for this exercise and don’t quit!!!! My blood pressure gradually went down and then spiked at the end of 5 weeks back up to slightly worse than the start! But I’m stubborn and I kept going. At the end of 6 months my blood pressure was normal and I had lost 10 lbs! Now it’s May 2012 and I’m still at it. I’m 5’9″ tall and I weighed 151 lbs. this morning and my blood was like 107/79. Since I am 58 this is a good number for me. Best of luck to you all.
The researches are correct about this protein that functions in the body to relax the arteries, but what was NOT mentioned is the signaling molecule that is the one responsible for the many functions that have to do with blood flow. Big pHarma does NOT want you to know that In 1998 three doctors won the Nobel Prize for the discovery of Nitric Oxide a signaling molecule that helps with blood circulation. Prevents heart attacks and strokes by improving Blood Flow, prevents blood clotting, helps normalize kidney function, Liver function. Cellular death occurs slowly due to lack of circulation. Nitric Oxide is critical to life but they don’t want you to know. So I did a blog post. Google this ( Miracle molecule for heart and diabetes disease ) and help us get the word out.
There is some patient getting kidney problem, and the treatment might be removing of one kidney, what is the care of this patients and what is the outcome after operation.
This information is good. More information would be even better. Thanks for sharing.
I think doctors should find out what is causing the high pressure rather than treat what they don't know esp since these meds cause other problems. that's why we always have to have our kidney's checked. meds cover up the problem not fix it. keep up the research I say.
I am seriously allergic to any Sulphonimide drugs and Hydrochlorithiazide. To date my doctors cannot find a diuretic or blood pressure medication in their catalogue that does not contain some form of these drugs. It has created Stevens-Johnson Syndrome that has stayed as a Psoriatic type rash for many agonizing years on my body trunk. I now take Rasolix but I am having the same reaction again! We are running out of things to try. My blood pressure is stable now at 128/75 but the side effects are excruciating! Any ideas?
I have known about this (normal Bodily Function/Process) for well over a year maybe longer, I read a paper that said a Doctor ? was treating people with extremely high BP by sending a low electrical current through the kidneys which either kills or makes those nerves far more passive, thus eliminating the need for any form of medication. However since then I have not seen anything else relating to this problem. Yes “The BP System” that you have here does work, to a degree, as does Meditation, but one cannot sit in meditation/contemplation all day, there are so many other things we need to do, such as living a normal life, with all its slings and arrows. Unfortunately………?
so if I am having to much protien in my urine and I am on blood pressure 2 times a day, maybe I should go see my chiropracter?
Mary Plaag I would definitely see a energy chirorpactor to restore normal neuromusculoskeltal function so the autonomic nervous sytem can help retore homeostatsis to you body
Well, I applied to receive this FREE set of articles, trusting that there is a genuine desire to help people. However, I discovered that almost every one takes long pages to advertise something and ends with ORDER NOW. If this is a sales campaign, then I got it wrong at the beginning. I simply can not believe that somebody would write so many pages, accompanied with various comments, all positive by the way, just to sell me three simple exercises.
This is not what I expected from this site, frankly speaking.
This sounds like Nephritis.
Turns out that elevated uric acid (anything above 5.5 for an adult male is too high and needs to be brought down (4.5 for a woman). New research suggests that it is high uric acid (independent of any other factors) that is the underlying cause of a host of ailments: high blood pressure, metabolic syndrome, obesity, Type II diabetes, insulin resistance, gout and gouty arthritis and renal disease.
Nitric Oxide depletes with age. We used the test strips and found out we
had very little of it. This can be had in Beet Juice or dried crystals.
Kudos to the blogger who is getting this message out.
I have a normal BP number on top but over 100 on the bottom. Low iron is
probably part of my problem so a vegetal based natural iron restores balance.
Yes , J Bell I gave a report on these findings to my Dr about 2 years ago [Lancet article]. I suppose it was filed…
The good thing was that I had terrible gout as well due to b.Thiazide use over many years so ended up on Sulfinpyrazone to excrete Uric Acid. I came of 4 additional BP meds last year and guess what- my BP actually reduced! My health was beginning to deteriorate long term on these extra mads- esp Rasilez and Doxasozin. No doubt they have their uses when working correctly but the body needs better than doping with heavy drugs that may not even like each other. No tests are done on drug mixes and rely on adverse reports which rarely get through the system.
Yes, there is a ‘Lot of It About’ as we’re often told about bugs- but there is this extra hidden agenda with Medics and Big Pharma to flush away bad news, like people do old meds -so the rest of the population suffers the residue.
[I refer to water pollution by flushed medicines]
The medics know well that BP meds compliance is low and many stop taking them given half a chance- I wonder why they never look for other ways, as here espoused?
A comfortable living , I suppose.
Hi
Apparently there’s a tea from Poland that is designed and sold to lower blood pressure. A friends girlfriend is polish and brought it back from her last trip back. Took it 2-3 times a day as recommended and in under 2 months her scarily high BP was normal.
A chinese doctor I talked too agreed that blood pressure is nothing more than a toxic load issues and recommended oolong tea. Chinese herbalists/doctors have more complex brews.
The Paleo diet with reverse high blood pressure and diabetes (I found a few studies online)
Also Kombucha has reduced bp as one of the effects as does Distilled water and Urine therapy. I’d bet 5 bucks that juicing will work too.
It all adds together to demonstrate that yes, toxic loads can be cleaned out.
M
To Mark Bennett, is there any way you could find out about the Polish tea. My Parents live in Poland& have been struggling with all of the above issues…Thanks in advance.
So what is the mystery protein that causes a surplus of renin thereby
constricting the blood vessels? I believe this could be my problem. I take
a diuretic but find I am getting heart palpitations from it so I desperately
need another answer. And yes, I do have your bp exercises. I need more
information regarding this last article if you have it. Thanks Maureen
My doctor just took me off of an NSAID (all nsaids) because he told me the numbers on my kidney function were not good. A call-back later, got me the information that the number for “good” was “26”, and my number was “30”.
I have no idea what that means, except that now, I have nothing to help rid me of arthritic pains, and with an RA similar disease, or disorder, the common arthritic pains are the ones which keep me up off and on all night, since I can no longer take my NSAID, & nothing else works to reduce the chronic ordinary arthritic pains. I say they are the regular arthritis, but with something similar to Lupus, or RA, how do I know where any of my pains come from?
I was wondering if I have a problem such as that in this article, and what to do to help it. I know you are a medical researcher and not a doctor. I do not expect you do diagnose me; I just wondered if there was a relationship to the problem in this article, and my “bad” kidney function number. Dr. did say it was not too serious yet; but as a precautionary, not to take NSAIDS. His prescription to replace it, Ultram, did nothing to help any pain, so I do not take it. In fact, it caused more unacceptable and aggravating symptoms. georgia
Have you been tested for sleep apnea? this is a leading cause of high blood pressure because it raises cortisol levels which raises blood pressure, to help moderate cortisol levels mean while you can up your vitamin c levels with lots of fresh fruits and veg (a wide variety not just your basics) as well as having your doctor test your Vitamin D levels, also keep a regular bedtime, and excercise routine. Kidney gravel/dust can also affect blood pressure they don't show up on xrays or scans because they are too fine, drink plenty of water and eat lots of high water content veg and fruits up to 5 different veg a day one serving each. This was the case with me and once I was using a CPAP machine (took me a couple of years or so to work out all the bugs in the adaptation process finally figuring out my exhalation port holes needed to be bigger running my air leakage up to almost the maximum until I was no longer dragging my mask off in my sleep. My blood pressure is now into the normal range.
Georgia you may want to try the anti inflamatory diet and have your vitamin D levels checked. You may want to reduce your intake of dairy products, change from apples to pears, drink only non concentrated orange juice, and avoid any of the common food allergies such as tomatoes, and their families ie potatoes. subsititute in squashes, summer and winter ones, Kholrabi, Kale, beets fresh boiled (not pickled)as well as the leaves keep an eye on your blood pressure levels since beets will drop your levels quiet dramatically and if you are taking bp meds you could drop too low. Eliminate any processed foods, and any snack food which have salt level on their labels over 10% or if they have anything in them you can read or know exactly what it is just from looking at it. you may want to cut out pork, chocolate (dipped is okay, cheap chocolate actually causes more problems with inflamation than anything) and cut your sugar intake as much as you can, it causes the body’s acid balance to go out of wack causing all kinds of problems.
