Coriander, also known as cilantro, is a garden herb used abundantly in Spanish and Tex-Mex cuisine. It also is a powerful herb to halt the damaging inflammation process that causes arthritis.
Researchers at AIIMS found that coriander stops the release of chemicals that produce joint swelling.
The study, which was published in a number of scientific magazines, including the Indian Journal of Medical Research, showed that damaging inflammation was stopped in its tracks when subjects were exposed to properties in coriander.
Coriander is used in salads, salsas, and side dishes and is accompanied well with lime, teriyaki sauce, and other dishes.
To all my stiff kneed friends out there..I'm giving it a go!
no doubt corriander is a v good herb but as i have been listening to many people saying that corriander taken too much in food can cause impotency,i don’t know wether it is right but it’s a very old saying.Allah subhanahu wa t’aala(GOD) has put cures of all illnesses in the herbs only if we know.anyway thanks for your research and the updates may Allah give you all the success in your good work.
@ Alison Thanks, I needed that info about now.
Fresh Coriander is nice mixed with juice of a lime, fresh green chilli' grated onion and finely chopped tomato. This is superb salsa to go with a curry or Mexican chilli. I would like to know if the seeds have the same effect? I make a tea out of Celery Seed ( half a teaspoon in boiling water, drink when cool) it is good foe the heart and taken at bedtime helps you sleep. It has been beneficial for my arthritis for more than 20 years. I take no medication.
I started useing the dry type as I find the fresh goes off to quickly.
Gregory, where do you buy those celery seeds?
I have written a book on heart healthy recopies, it's available on Kindle and I garnish every dish with fresh coriander.

I have this thing in mind for so long ever since the advent of these herbals identified to provides relief and cure for a lot of health problem. If researches produced this kind of result, why can't the Government steps in to sponsor authentic clinical and scientific studies to put an end to endless speculation on the potency of these herbals categorized as food supplements, thereby will saves a lot of people from taking these harmful synthetic drugs.

The magic of the the ayurveda is timeless. It a natural science that was founded by our ancestors thousands of years ago.
About coriander: though it is an effective remedy. It is a 'cold' herb. That means that those who live in cold countries, or are comfortable keeping their bodies warm, mustn't excessively use it. Specially those who are elderly.
The best way to try 'Ayurveda' or 'Herbs' are to try them for a few times, if it works with their bodies, well enough. If it doesn't suit you, skip them.
Ayurveda, or 'Herbology' as I would like to call it, is a gift from the east of the past to the world of today, specially to our friends of the west. It shall make you more natural, more intuitive. It will help you understand the rhythm of the universe, and flow with it.
