Adopting a vegan diet that restricts the amount of meat, fish and poultry in the diet can lift one’s mood, reports a new study published in this week’s Nutrition Journal.
The study asked a group of omnivores that ate meat to adopt a range of vegetarian diets, including a vegan diet. They discovered that vegan dieters noted a significant improvement in mood over the course of the 2-week study.
The scientists note that meat’s high level of a compound known as arachidonic acid may contribute to poor mood in meat eaters. By reducing the amount of arachidonic acid in the diet by eliminating meat and animal products, mood may improve in certain people.
This is very important when tackling chronic diseases such as arthritis, diabetes and high blood pressure since oftentimes they cause low mood, even depression.

Note: The picture of Bill Clinton is not political statement. Clinton turned vegan few years back after suffering heart attack and looks like he’s in a good mood. Think he looks better or worse? What’s your thoughts on vegan diet? Please leave your comment below…
Nothing wrong in vegan diet.My family & friends have turned to vegan & they are happy about it.They also tells me they loose weight & they are much happier in themselves also good for health benefits.
He looks good.
I believe it.
a good v/diet for optimal health)exercise-include( lead to praise to a devine creator which culminate the process of time.
Makes sense to me.
Yes this my lifestyle since age 30 but Dr.Mercola and Dr.Brownstein disagree, regards.
The most probable reason these people felt better and had better moods is that they removed meat that was chock full of hormones, antibiotics, and steroids from their diets. Hormones, antibiotics and steroids (from factory-raised animals) fuel the growths of fungi in the body which can lead to depression, fatigue and mood swings. Meat from organic, grass-fed animals do the opposite – they actually lift moodiness and depression.
Mankind is a true omnivore – we were designed to eat moderate portions of meat in order to ensure we get our necessary iron and B-12 – critical to human health.
The vegans I know are constantly battling weight gain, skin problems, fatigue and a host of other complaints. Most of them look much older than their years, also.
Please don’t take this study seriously. It was only 2 weeks long! And it wasn’t a clinical trial – just a short STUDY.

Human beings are vastly different in their makeup and metabolisms. A vegan diet is perfect for some individuals but a disaster for others.
This is without a doubt True, I cannot believe it. I am pleasantly surprised.
interesting
It seems like its the right way to eat.
Each person is so “individual” and responds differently to any diet.
I spent seven months on an almost zero fat diet. No meats. Only organic
nuts, seeds, veggies, beans, fruit and whole grain.
I did everything right and carefully to attempt to reverse type 2 diabetes.
I lost a lot of weight but my blood sugar went so high it was scary.
My body did not deal well with even the smallest amounts of grains and beans.
Although complex, I still have a negative reaction to carbs.
I went back to low carb, low glycemic, trying to keep the fat as low as possible.
Awesome results.
Vegan diet? Vegetarianism is enough! Most vegetarians cannot do without.
dairy products, their main source of calcium and proteins, apart from pulses.
That's true, I myself eat at least meat 2x a week(natural).

quite possible.
I am a fourth-generation pure vegetarian. I never have been depressed for five minutes in my life! My great-grandfather became a strict vegetarian. He was a contemporary of President Abraham Lincoln. However, he did not call himself a "veegun." My grandparents did not call themselves veeguns, my parents, my siblings, my children are vegetarians. If we ingested bovine secretions and chicken abortions we would be animaltarians! That ugly, ugly "veegun" word was invented by a British man named Watson in ~1948 A.D. It referred to people who do not wear leather!
In regard to human health. A diet that contains no animal products is the best one. My body is in its seventh decade of life. But, I feel like a teenager. I take no medication of any kind. I never have been hospitalized, etc.
I believe it is most beneficial to pursue a mix – part vegan/part flesh in ratio of approx 70/30. Flesh of course being free range chicken or fish.
Incidentally, I dont seem to recall seeing any info on inflammation and how to deal with same. I seem to be reading this can be a factor in diabetes – the latest addition to my list of ailments.
I enjoy your nealthnews very much.
