Compounds in coffee can help those with type 2 diabetes process blood sugar better in the brain, reports a study conducted by Mount Sinai School of Medicine researchers.
In this study of diabetic mice, scientists gave the rodents a decaf coffee supplements for 5-months. They found that the coffee improved the mice’s ability to utilize glucose in their brains. Glucose utilization in the brain is often impaired in those with type 2 diabetes, and may be responsible for their increased risk of cognitive decline. While promising, the scientists note that its not yet clear whether coffee will also benefit humans with diabetes.
A natural way to fight type 2 diabetes and win…
I find this very interesting. However I think I will continue to start with a cup of decaf and warm it up occasionally with caffeinated coffee. I used to drink alot of coffee but since I cut down, the number of migraines have decreased greatly. Always enjoy your articles though, thank you for trying to keep us informed!
This is great as I like coffee and I am also diabetic.
it sounds great but how many cup do need to drink? I drin k one cup a day.
This is good news! I’m diabetic with high blood presure and some heart problems, kidney failure and ulcerative colotisis. How about that with coffee?
If I were diabetic I would prefer to go the Rawfor30Days route and cure my diabetes in a few weeks for good.
check this out.
Crap research. There are diabetic coffee drinkers all over the world. Mice don’t drink coffee. Of course they will respond to something as alien to their system ad coffee.
I am very much enthused with the kind of Research you are carrying out to help humanity more grease to your brains and elbows.
I would be very glad if a serious could be conducted into FIBROID its cause, prevention. mode of spread, Its cure.
Thank you very much
I bet one is good. The doctor told Scott not to drink more than 2 cups daily, but he puts lots of cream and sugar in his so that was why no more than 2. Love u guys!
Since caffiene also supresses the appetite, coffee helps me cut down my tendency to eat “heartily”. At least, thats my story and I’m sticking to my coffee breaks! Al Mitchell
If it works and if you enjoy Coffee why not try it?
Does it mean to specifically drink DECAF coffee – if so it must be something in the coffee itself, otherwise if it is the caffiene then would any caffiene drink have the same possibilities. thankyou
Everyone should take this coffee azrticle with a grain of salt! Note it was decaf that was used, and “compounds” that were beneficial in the utilization of glucose. What compounds? We need more information.
You are right, Jodi. Inflammation is the cause of diabetes (and most diseases). But what causes the inflammation? It is fungus! Overgrowths of fungi living on the pancreas cause it to malfunction. That’s why the low-carb diets are so successful in curing diabetes and other diseases. Yeast and fungi don’t get fed and die – and the pancreas heals itself. Coffee is a dangerous thing for diabetics to comsume because it is so acid. Yeast and fungi thrive in acidic environments, so diabetics – toss the coffee! You can drink a little again when you get well.
hmmm
I understand “DE-caffinated” coffee is mostly a marketing label, that they are able to reduce, but not at all make the coffee caffiene-free, though perhaps the process does ADD or enhance the effect of those extra “compounds” not specified? I dunno, but I do apprecaite the various tips and ideas that caN help with being Type2. I don’t faithfully follow ’em all, but at least the doctors are happy enough to have been able to back off some of the levels of meds I’m on. Rgds, Al Mitchell
I like coffee very much at least two cups a day . I am diabetic 2 but to any one wonder when ever i drink coffee i go to urinate more often than when i don’t drink.
In a recent “Health Ranger” “Natural News” update, Coconut Oil is able to be used by the brain instead of sugar and was able to restore the brain’s of people suffering from memory loss etc. It is the long chain fatty acids in Coconut Oil that are actually preferred by the brain as fuel, which is a blessing to all people suffering from Type 2 diabetes. The Coconut Oil also restored some movement of the limbs in those people with such problems.
diabetic rodents have the same brains as humans?
It isn’t clear yet to drink coffee or not. What is the conclusion?

Chris Hill – It takes a while to break a lifetime of eating habits. I no longer have any interest in any cooked food. Yes, I'm probably one of the healthiest 89-year olds out there.
