The drill sergeant approach to weight loss may be less effective than positive body image, according to results published in this week’s edition of the International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity. In this study it was discovered that one of the strongest links to sustained weight loss was a positive body image.
The effects of staying positive about your body while cutting calories is significant: the researchers found that those with the most positive body image lost 5 percent more body weight than those with poor self esteem. The research team thinks that boosting body image can increase self-efficacy—the belief that one can meet goals. Self-efficacy has been shown in several studies to correlate with weight loss success.
Lose weight the easy (and step-by-step) way here…

Sorry, I started to read the article, but right away it said that you could do all these wonderful things with no exercise and no dieting. I just don’t believe that. You’re saying that I will lose weight by having a positive body image. I can believe that, but NOT without also eating a low-fat, reduced calorie diet AND exercising. I believe that anyone who says otherwise is either just not telling the truth or is trying to sell me something. Sorry, but this is my honest opinion. I am old enough that I have learned not to trust anyone or anything that says you can lose weight and keep it off without dieting or exercise!
