Studies abound singing the praises of having friends in one’s life, but a recent American Heart Association statement builds up the case for including one particular kind of friend.
Who should you be spending your time with if you want to improve your heart health and lower your high blood pressure?
Studies show that people who have close friends tend to fare better health wise and actually live longer than their more hermit-like counterparts.
But what do you do if you really just don’t like people? Or, what if you are surrounded by great humans and there is still just that one element missing?
Sharing your life with a pet may just be the answer for you. Studies have shown owning a pet is directly related to a reduction in the risk of heart disease. And it doesn’t even have to be the furry, 4-legged kind, either.
While dog owners are generally found to be the healthiest, people who own pets of any kind are found to have a higher concentration of mood-boosting chemicals in the brain, lower blood pressure, and better emotional health than people who don’t have pets.
Dog owners, in particular, are the group of pet lovers that fared better in clinical studies. They are found to weigh less, spend more time outdoors, and have better metabolic activity overall.
Instead of spending a fortune on dangerous drugs that don’t even always work, consider adopting a friend from a shelter or setting up an aquarium.

As an Aquarium owner myself I can vouch for the pleasure of watching fish just being fish in their ordinary interaction with their surroundings, providing one looks after the aquarium properly it can provide a lifetime of pleasure. But There is nothing to compare like the interaction with a four legged creature, Dog’s fit better indoors but Horse’s to can be wonderful companions and once one has established the rapport with either it takes a lot of beating and the love one gives and receives from these creatures is truly unconditional, which is more than can be said for the love between humans…?
where are the exercises.
I think you have to buy a book to find out where the exercises are $$$$!
So true….We are so grateful for our “pets”…Feline and Canine…All bring us Joy and Laughter..Never hear a word of complaint or criticism from them…Always greet us with “wagging tails” and not wagging tongues.. Always glad to see us and sit at our feet waiting for a “treat” or a kind word…Truly, Heavens remedy for earthly maladies…Our BP is as good as it gets…and we give them the credit, for being Heavens’ “balm” for our excellent health..
No exercises. It is a technique to make money
My dog brought me a lot of pleasure for several years. Then she got sick and had a lump on her leg that begin to grow. The vet wanted $1000.00 to remove the lump which I couldn’t aford. My dod got so she couldn’t walk and I finally had to put her down after much suffering. My blood pressure was high during this time I had to worry and suffer with my dog.
I found out that No money, No excercises. it is not good.
