We all know that the key to good health is to eat healthy. Load your plate with at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables every day, the health authorities recommend.
And I, of course, agree fully… or almost!
You see, there is a caution you have to take. Because some types of fruits and vegetables may actually be contributing to type 2 diabetes. And it’s not what you would think.
This is the subject of today’s feature article.
You see, it isn’t the fruits and vegetables themselves that cause type 2 diabetes. It’s how they’re grown. Most vegetables are loaded with synthetic chemicals all throughout the growing process. And these chemicals stay in the plants all the way onto your plate.
Of course, authorities always claim the chemicals used are tested and safe. That is till we find out they’re not safe and the chemicals are banned and new ones take their place.
The newest chemical in the list of “used to be safe but now we don’t know” is the fungicide tolylfluanid. This is a synthetic pesticide used commonly on farm crops.
A recent study linked this chemical to insulin resistance. And we all know that insulin resistance is the beginning of type 2 diabetes. This was revealed on the Endocrine Society’s 94th annual meeting in July.
The scientist applied this tolylfluanid to fat cells and discovered that the fat cells became resistant to the insulin. They also began storing more fat.
The good news is that using tolylfluanid is actually forbidden in many western countries – including the USA because it has been found to cause various health issues in rats. But don’t be too quick to celebrate.
Why? Two reasons:
1) Tolylfluanid is only one of many chemicals used on crops all over the world. And like other chemicals used today, it used to be considered completely safe. So what does that tell us about other chemicals that are considered completely safe today?
2) Tolylfluanid is used on fruits and vegetables all over the world. Products that are most likely imported into your local supermarket. Or used in the packed fruit juice concentrate. And regulating import of crops or products produced using tolylfluanid is almost non-existent.
And it isn’t just type 2 diabetes that’s affected by these chemicals. They contribute to all health issues such as high blood pressure, cancer, arthritis, thyroid problems and even erectile dysfunction.

So what is the alternative?
The only way to completely guarantee you’re consuming a minimal amount of these chemicals is to eat organic. Nothing else you can do. And for absolutely best results choose locally grown organic products.
That’s the only way know your fruit salad is good and healthy.

Or better still…grow your own and use garlic/vegemite as insecticides…I grow lots of stuff and don't mind sharing some with the insects…they have a life too! LOL
I honestly and wholeheatedly believe that as long as drug companies are able to profit from people suffering with diabetes that a "cure" will never be approved!
Wash the veges and fruits with Baking Soda that will do the trick.

What assurances we have that some type of chemicals are NOT
used in organic fruits and veggies?
Next year, i grow what i can myself. Then i know, hopefully.
What about seeds? Are they treatedwith anything that could be harmful after planting and growing? I have heard such stories.

Wishful thinking but if only we could do without food.Our elders ate plenty of fish and used only coconut oil and lived long without medication for heart disease or cholestrol.Then we were told coconut oil was taboo as it is full of saturated fat and bad for the heart;now we are told it is good fat so who or what do we believe.I know people who do not eat any fruit at all and still have type 2 diabetes.Hereditary? then let’s eat and have no regrets.
