If it’s dead, it won’t help you any (yea, we’re serious). But here’s the kicker: if it’s alive, it’ll send your blood pressure racing downwards.
It’s an ingredient that you can easily find in your supermarket. Eat it for more than 2 months, and you’ll have noticeable reductions in blood pressure.
A recent research published in the journal ‘Hypertension’ has showed that probiotics are just the thing to help you lower your blood pressure.
First, a short note on probiotics. Probiotics are certain good microbes that are good for your health. They improve the immune system and digestion. Probiotics are naturally found in fermented milk, yogurt, cheese as well as in specially prepared probiotics drinks.
This study analyzed data from nine different studies involving 543 participants with normal and high blood pressure. The aim of the study was to understand if there was a link between probiotics consumption and blood pressure.
It was shown that those who consumed probiotics regularly showed an average reduction in blood pressure of 3.6 mm Hg systolic pressure and 2.4 mm Hg diastolic pressure compared to those who didn’t.
The most important factor was the duration of consumption of the probiotics. When it was consumed for less than 2 months, no significant difference was observed. But when consumed for a longer period, probiotics were found to be useful for reducing the levels of LDL cholesterol and also control blood sugar levels and insulin resistance, both of which are important risk factors for heart health.
If improving your heart health means including just a probiotic product in your diet every day, it’s worth the effort, isn’t it?
And of course, the best way to get your heart health on track is to lower your blood pressure.
I think they’ve only scratched the surface about the benefits of probiotics. I read somewhere that there are so many bacterias in our bodies that 90% of the DNA is actually not ours. And these bacterias are vital for our health.
Yogurt a day keeps the doctor away!

Yogurt is good, no doubt. But I wonder why Kefir is not more researched
