It’s been considered completely safe pain and inflammation relief. Most people grab one once in a while but many take it on a daily basis. Especially if you suffer chronic pain.
But evidence is mounting against the use of this popular pain relief medicine. And we may be looking at something similar to the Vioxx scandal, where as early as 2000 drug-makers and the FDA knew there were problems- but stayed quiet until it was banned in 2004 due to serious cardiac failure risk.
A study published in the online version of the journal, Lancet, has implicated the popular pain remedy class Non-Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) in a variety of dangerous side effects.
The study looked at the occurrence of significant health problems such as major vascular events, cause-specific mortality, and heart failure.
It is already widely published that NSAIDs, most popularly ibuprofen, are responsible for gastrointestinal upset, leading even to ulcers, but the life-threatening side effects are only coming to light with studies published within the last year or so.
What the researchers found was that people who use NSAIDs are more than 3 times as likely to suffer from major cardiac events, similar to what was seen with Vioxx, as those who do not take NSAIDs. This included heart attack and vascular events such as stroke and aneurysm.
The study looked at people who used the over-the-counter pain remedies regularly, as you would for arthritis or other chronic pain conditions.
The study also found that hospitalizations among NSAID users doubled compared to non-users.
What does this mean for those who have come to depend upon ibuprofen or coxib-based drugs? It confirms what naturopaths and natural health researchers have been saying for years, which is that natural, drug-free solutions to pain management and elimination will always be safer than pharmaceutical-based approaches.
Some people with chronic pain conditions may feel like they have no alternative, but research into natural health solutions has opened the door to new treatment options.
If you suffer from any of these chronic pain issues and are trying to free yourself from the prison of NSAIDs, you may benefit greatly from giving them a try:
Non-Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) are using to reduce the inflammation and pain and it is widely used by many especially by arthritis patients. Even many physicians advice their patients about the side effects of these medicines and also suggest to find some other alternate treatment methods of for the disease.
High blood pressure, cardiac failure, stomach upset etc. are the usual side effects of using NSAIDs for a long period. For your own benefit it is wise to find some other alternate methods of treatment for your curing your discomfort.
Thanks for sharing this information. I used to take Ibuprofen quite frequently against persistent
headaches. I think from now on I will try more natural methods to deal with pain.

of marriage to this woman,oh" what a relief
To Mike:
I also used to suffer from terrible menstruation pains in my late teens. Nothing was helping, it was so bad .. Maybe it’s not the best advice, but after being on a Pill for at least a year I never suffered pain.
If being on a Pill is not an option, let her take some Aspirin, it helps dissolve blood clots and takes the pain away. It is definitely better option than Ibuprofen.
Also there is this great herb called Vitex, it regulates hormones and menstruation cycle.
I hope it helps
what did you do? kick her out?
Hello Mike – Greetings! To ease your daughters menstrual pain you could do the following: In the evening soak one teaspoonful of black sesame seeds in a small glass of water. Next day morning
one hour before breakfast let her consume the swollen sesame seeds washed down with that water.
After one hour let her consume her usual breakfast. This has to be consumed regularly for a year.
Further let her do one yogic exercise called as ASHWINI MUDRA, wherein you contract your anal hole
and then gently release it. This is one count and she should do ten daily in the morning and ten in the evening. Let the count be increased daily to ten until she reaches 60 counts in six days and then life long stick to 60 counts of ashwini mudra in the morning and in the evening. All pms problem will be set right with this ashwini mudra and consumption of daily one teaspoonful of soaked black sesame seeds. By the way I am a yoga teacher. Good Luck and God Bless. Cheers! :o)
Sounds like your doc is on the right track with the NSAIDs. However, sometimes this doesn’t do the trick Trust me. Because of their adicdtive and potentially harmful nature, I wouldn’t like to recommend a narcotic pain killer such as vicodin or percocette. However, if the pain is really severe, you might want to consider asking your doctor about these if nothing else works. I have known many people with degenerative diseases that find comfort and feel better with a little pain killer. Just be careful! If you do get prescribed pain killers, your doc should start you off on a 5mg or 10 mg pill. Anything more than that, you can possibly say goodbye to being active! Hope this helps.
