Mindfulness High Blood PressureA new study conducted by researchers from Kent University in Ohio reveals that high blood pressure is effectively cured by simple mindfulness-based, stress-releasing exercises.

This simple method not only effectively cuts down blood pressure, it also tackles chronic pain and anxiety.

And it has absolutely no side effects.

The study involved 56 women and men with borderline hypertension.

A group of study participants were assigned to undergo eight group sessions of 2½ hours per week of mindfulness based stress reduction, or MBSR, program exercises, plus one hour on their own.

MBSR exercises include a combination of body awareness exercises, gentle yoga and guided meditation led by a trained instructor.

The group undergoing MBSR program exercises was compared to another study participant group who received a different kind of therapy involving tensing and relaxing muscles. According to researchers, the fact that these exercises are not considered to be a blood pressure treatment made them a credible placebo for this research.

The results of the study revealed that study participants in the MBSR group experienced a significant reduction in blood pressure compared to the other group receiving a placebo-or muscle tensing exercises.

The systolic, or top blood pressure number was dropped 5 points (mm HG), compared to only 1 point (mm HG) in a placebo group.

Researchers conclude that mindfulness based stress reduction exercise is a credible and effective way to tackle high blood pressure without high cost and dangerous side effects.

The only problem with this research was that they used only traditional, general relaxation and mindfulness techniques. That’s the reason they only experienced the moderate 5 point drop in their blood pressure.

For almost a decade, I’ve been teaching specific blood pressure-lowering exercises that worked for me, and have been proven by thousands of readers to literally drop their blood pressure on the spot.

In fact, most people manage to lower their blood pressure below 120/80 within a week; sometimes, even the very first time they do these specific blood pressure lowering exercises.
