Today’s article is pretty long. But it tackles a very important issue that touches most of us and is becoming very controversial (to say the least) both among doctors and natural researchers:
“Is the high cholesterol danger reality or just a myth from the pharmaceutical companies to squeeze out literally hundreds of BILLIONS of dollars?”
So please check it out and make your comments at the end of this page.
You can’t read about health issues for long before running into the word “cholesterol”.
And in more cases than not, this word is used in a very negative connection blaming high cholesterol for anything regarding heart and arterial health.
If, however, you were to dig deeper into the issue, you’ll soon hear another opinion about cholesterol. Several books have been written asserting the “Cholesterol Myth” claiming that high cholesterol has no negative effects on your health. According to those voices this myth was invented by the pharmaceutical companies to be able to sell billions of dollars of useless drugs.
Everyone agrees that not all cholesterol is created even. There is so called “good cholesterol” and “bad cholesterol” and the third “type of cholesterol”. Then there is this cholesterol number and that cholesterol number and you want this one high and that one low.
After a while of researching, you’ll probably feel dizzy as a dog chasing his own tail.
So I hope today I’ll be able to clarify in plain English what exactly cholesterol is and the functional and dysfunctional roles it may play in the human body.
You see, things are not always as they seem…
Cholesterol is a waxy fat-like essence that exists in every single cell in your body and is essential for our survival.
The main purpose of cholesterol is to strengthen and protect the cell membranes. Without it, our cells would collapse or be totally unprotected from the outside world. You could think about it as border control of the cell; deciding whom to let in and out.
As a structural developer, cholesterol also has the role of bandaging injured arteries that may crack for various reasons, preventing them from exploding or leaking. This function is the beginning of a plaque problem I’ll discuss in a second.
Cholesterol also creates various hormones, helps convert sunlight into vitamin D and substances to improve digestion just to name a few of many functions.
Since no cell can survive without cholesterol, it needs to be delivered from the liver (where it’s produced) throughout the body via the blood stream in the arteries. And then again from the cells back to liver for recycling.
Now you may have heard about so called “bad cholesterol” (LDL) and “good cholesterol” (HDL). The fact is, there is only one type of cholesterol.
You see, cholesterol is delivered through out the blood stream in vehicles that are made up of fat on the inside but protein on the outside. And it’s the vehicle that varies, not the cholesterol itself. Just like sometimes people use trucks and other times cars, cholesterol chooses different vehicles for different purposes.
The LDL vehicle (I’ll refer to it as LDL cholesterol from now on) delivers cholesterol from the liver throughout the body whereas the HDL vehicle (HDL cholesterol) clears the cholesterol from the cells back to the liver.
If you’ve enough HDL, it also helps remove cholesterol plaque build up in your arteries.
Both are equally important. We couldn’t live without either one of those cholesterol types. If we didn’t have any LDL (bad cholesterol), none of the much-needed cholesterol would be delivered to our cells. And without the HDL (good cholesterol), the cholesterol would build up in our body and clog the whole system.
In fact, cholesterol is so important to our survival that our bodies take no risk and have developed a system in the liver to create all cholesterol needed. Even more, every single cell in your body has the ability to create its own cholesterol, just in case the supply runs low.
An average person gets 75% of their cholesterol produced by the liver, whereas only 25% comes from their diet. That’s why you never hear about taking cholesterol as supplement.
The problem arises when LDL, on its delivery mission, begins to build a plaque in the heart arteries that little by little block the blood and oxygen delivery flow through them.
Finally the plaque may break lose and mostly or completely block the heart vessels, preventing the heart from pumping blood throughout the body. Sometimes part of the plaque breaks into the blood stream and shoots all the way up to the vessels infusing the brain, blocking the blood delivery and causing stroke.
In fact, plaque can build up in any artery throughout the body causing various conditions from angina to erectile dysfunction.
What I’ve explained so far is well known fact in the medical field, and nobody argues about any of this.
What both professionals and laymen are arguing about among themselves and against each other is why and how exactly the cholesterol plaque begins to build up.
For the last 30-40 years, heart health authorities have bombarded us with the slogan of lower cholesterol, lower cholesterol, lower cholesterol.
Interestingly enough, this slogan really took off in the early eighties exactly at the same time drugs companies came out with the first Statin drugs that ever since have been best selling drugs and cash cows for these companies.
[adrotate group=”5″]Gradually, the recommended level of cholesterol in the blood has been reducing. First it was total cholesterol of 200. Then they lowered it to 180 and finally tried to push it all the way to 150.
At some point, medical authorities realized that using the total amount of cholesterol didn’t make any sense since LDL is considered bad and HDL good. So attempting to lower both bad and good cholesterol was misleading to say the least.
So then the recommendation was LDL level no higher than 100. Now I believe it stands at 70.
This goes to show that the cholesterol issue has been very inconsistent.
The reasoning behind this rally for lowering cholesterol makes sense at first glance. Since the cause of many heart attack is the build up of LDL cholesterol in the arteries, it’s obvious that lowering the amount of cholesterol in the blood stream must prevent this from happening. Right?
Well, maybe not…
More and more reliable studies are coming out indicating that lowering cholesterol level has no, or very little impact on the risk of heart attack or second heart attack.
Some studies have even indicated levels of cholesterol that are too LOW may increase risk of dying from a heart attack.
A recent Norwegian study (and I tend to put more value on European studies since they’re less likely to be influenced by pharmaceutical companies) showed that women with overall higher levels of cholesterol lived longer and had fewer heart attacks and strokes.
A study from the University of Toronto among men who had already had a heart attack showed that cholesterol had no impact on increasing the risk of second heart attack.
Numerous other studies have turned up similar results.
Not only are the claims that high cholesterol is harmful being shattered, researches have also found links between low cholesterol level and diseases such as Alzheimers, memory loss and other health problems. Note that the side effects of the most used cholesterol drugs on the market, Statin drugs, often include memory loss.
The question that old-school cholesterol authorities have also failed to answer sufficiently is why in the world would our body have this failed mechanism that by slightly raising our LDL cholesterol level (which is unlike other substances we use totally natural for the body), our system would totally self-destruct.
You see, under normal circumstances, our arteries are loaded with LDL and none of it gets stuck on the arterial walls. Why all of a sudden with a small rise in LDL does it begin to stick like flies to fly paper?
There are several new theories about this issue. The most common ones today assert that so called free radicals injure the arterial walls and cause inflammation.
To prevent the arteries from exploding, the body sends in cholesterol to patch up the damage while it heals. The more harm free radicals do, the more patching is done and more risk of overdoing it with the patching. And the more inflammation, the more risk that parts of the patch will come lose and cause heart attack or stroke.
What causes free radicals and its connection to inflammation is an issue for another article. The fact is, cholesterol will probably not affect your arteries, unless there are cracks to stick in and inflammation to bind and split it.
To prove this, lets look at a protein called C-reactive protein (CRP).
CRP is, like cholesterol, mostly created in the liver. Scientists have discovered that huge amount of this protein is released when the body detects inflammation. And now, studies are showing clear connection between CRP and the risk of heart attack and stroke.
A recent study showed that people having the upper third levels of CRP had double the risk of heart attack and stroke as those in the lower third level.
Many doctors are now testing CRP as well as cholesterol levels to determine patients risk of heart attack or stroke.
Don’t be surprised if drug companies soon come out with CRP-lowering drugs and make even more money on them than cholesterol-lowering drugs. And again, the drug companies will be wrong and the patients will suffer horrible side effects.
Why?
Because just like with high LDL cholesterol, CRP is not the root cause of the problem, but only a symptom of an underlying problem. Inflammation, and before that free radicals, (or whatever else is injuring your arterial walls) are the reason why cholesterol begins to build up in your arteries in the first place and the extra load of CRP is released.
Now at this point you may be asking yourself if all efforts to manage cholesterol are useless and have no effect on the risk of heart attack or stroke.
At the risk of confusing you further, I answer NO!
If you’ve read any of my previous articles or know my personal story about tackling deadly plaque in my blood vesses, you know that I don’t take these things lightly.
I faced death when my doctor informed me that my arteries were more than 90% blocked by cholesterol plaque. My overall blood cholesterol was over 300, whereas LDL was much too high and HDL was much too low.
Despite the fact that new studies indicate minor or no connection between cholesterol level and heart attack and stroke, there have been numerous studies indicating the opposite. So I would say the jury is still out but this is definitely a controversial issue.
And it is clear that cholesterol is the main building block of plaque in the arteries, which clearly causes heart attacks and strokes once released.
My doctor wanted me to go on Statin right away and then undergo surgery as soon as possible. But after doing some of the research I’ve made clear to you here (most of the things I learned later), I came to the conclusion that forcing my cholesterol level down with drugs wasn’t the answer.
I had to look at the underlying cause for my high cholesterol level and the blocking of my arteries.
I soon found out that the low fat diet recommended to lower cholesterol was almost useless. An average person may lower his or her cholesterol level 1-2 percent. I needed something much more dramatic.
Back then the information about inflammation, free radicals and CRP were not as well known as now. So I began my journey with two major goals:
1) Lower my LDL blood cholesterol level to stop the buildup of plaque in my heart.
2) Raise my HDL blood cholesterol level. Because HDL has long been proven to remove LDL cholesterol from the body and more importantly, remove cholesterol plaque.
Less than a month later, my overall blood cholesterol level was below 200. My LDL had drastically dropped and my HDL had risen. What’s more important, there were clear signs that the blockage in my heart was reducing and blood was flowing more easily.
Since then, my health began to improve steadily. My blood pressure is down to normal and my arteries are almost completely open. All without ever taking any drugs or undergoing surgery.
What I’ve later realized is that with my diet, workout and mindset change, I wasn’t just managing my cholesterol level. Unknowingly, I was tackling the underlying of the plaque building and my heart problems; causes such as free radicals and inflammation.
Without that, the blockage in my arteries would never have cleared. Statin drugs may force cholesterol down but they’ve never been shown to remove plaque.
You can read more about my cholesterol journey and the methods I used here…
Check this out if you want to focus on lowering blood pressure naturally…
I feel that it is rather a shame that the way of measuring Cholesterol levels in the u.k. is different to that used in the USA (and other places) because it makes it rather difficult to know what is being said in US information, such as this article. My Husband had a heart attack in July ’11, and we have been told that although his cholesterol was low, and continues low, with good levels of HDL, this has no effect on whether he should take Statins, and have been told he will be on them for life. I am frightened to stop them, but somehow seem to suspect that contrary to Doctors’ advice he probably doesn’t need them and there is something else at work here. The trouble is I don’t know WHAT! His diet has changed hugely, but he can’t do much exercise due to other health problems … and that can’t be changed. I’ve been told that although his cholesterol levels are low, with high HDL, it is evident that it is still too high for him! It beats me how the hell he is supposed to get his overall cholesterol below what it is now (in u.k. measurements 2.7 in all – way over half is HDL). If Statins don’t do it, and he can’t take exercise in meaningful amounts, the diet doesn’t seem to be able to do it either – I am at a loss to know what else can be done. If anybody reads this and can answer I am very receptive to answers!
Great article. Remember the brain and the nervous system use cholesterol as the major component of myelin the insulator that allows rapid nerve conduction. The brain is 80 to 90% by weight cholesterol. And we are trying to put 11 year olds on statins now,,,I am afraid we are going to develope a whole generation af brain deficient kids.

We place too much trust in a body of professionals “FDA” who, for the most
part are in the back pockets of the greedy Multi-Billion Dollar Pharmaceutical Industry. Our doctors basically tow the line and believe
everything the Pharmaceutical Companies claim and pass it on to us, their
patients. I understand that Doctors in general are fearful to speak out
against a lot of pharmaceuticals being marketed, they will be discredited,
and their professional status and reputations destroyed. They know very well
they are up against the most financially powerful group of people each one
greasing their own paws and covering each others’ back. However, understanding this, we the people have a responsibility to know ourselves and
understand how our bodies works and what our bodies need to be healthy and
to stay healthy as we age. I always tell my doctor, first and foremost I
want to try a non-pharmaceutical approach to whatever might be wrong with me.
Also, symptom relief does not solve the problem. Let’s get to the cause and
understanding the cause, we can eliminate it. But, there is very little money
to be made with this approach and the Big Guy will Kill it. Each one of
us must take direct responsibility for our health. If you don’t have the
right doctor for you, then change doctors….don’t be afraid to talk and
speak out and to others. You’re not alone in this struggle to cut be
Pharmaceutical Companies down to size. Dangerous work though!! 🙂
A highly informative and useful article. It promotes the gernal awareness about lipids and gives a sigh of relief to those who are suffering from high cholestol problem.
Hi Scott,
Cholesterol is indeed something useful for our body. It’s so sad that too many people just do whatever their doctor tells them to, such as taking statin drugs, to lower high cholesterol. They don’t try to increase their knowledge and fail to realize that many “studies” about lowering-cholesterol drugs are actually *sponsored* by drug companies!
People should also realize that heart disease is NOT caused by high cholesterol – it’s inflammation in the arterial walls!
If your cholesterol is high, it means that there is something wrong in your body, which is too much inflammation. Therefore, we should address the root cause (inflammation), not the symptom (high cholesterol).
I really appreciate your effort in educating people about this issue. Please keep up the good work 🙂
I know of a man who has many medical problems in addition to high cholesterol. He was put on a high strength statin drug WITHOUT supplementing with CoQ10. It is quite rare in the US for a physician to recommend this and it can be literally life saving for the patient who is willing to kill him(her)self by following a doctor’s orders.
He now cannot get out of a bath tub because of muscle deterioration, most likely a side effect of the statin drug.
Since he is on so many different meds for his various medical problems it is unlikely he will want to take anything else on his own.
Has he told his doctor about his muscle problems? I have no idea.
I sincerely wish I had a way to influence the outcome by increasing his knowledge and that of his wife as to the probability that the statin is causing the muscular problems he is experiencing.
The creative power that created us is not stupid to build a self-destruct system in us called LDL cholesterol! You need only 100 bricks to make a wall (plaque). Around you there are 1000 bricks lying around (supposedly high LDL). You take statins and it reduces the number of bricks to 250 (a hefty 75% reduction – a dramatic reduction not always possible with statins…..nevertheless let us assume). Still you have 250 bricks lying around…………….and you need only a 100 to build a wall! Who is fooling whom?
Very interesting, informative article. I am 81 years young, just spent a night in the hospital when I suddenly stopped being able to pull words into my mouth & went into Emergengy with BP of 210. Runnerup to a stroke. I am on 40mg. of Simvastatin & am forwarding your article to my Dr.who is a very caring man, wants me to “live” & enjoy whatever life I have here. He may be afraid to just take me off & watch it climb. I have put my self on a diet, losing weight, & “moving”. I hope to be around just to see what happens next over the next ten years. Sincerely, Ellie
very interesting i have plaque 75% in my leg and have just started taking hydrogen peroxide do you think that will help get rid of it George
Another very informative and powerful article. My BP is too high and I am now inspired to get back on track with Christian’s BP Progam, cycling and now a fresh look at my diet with the focus on spotting any free radicals. I know the food companies put all sorts of sh-one-t in packaged/processed food, not just excess sugar and salt. I avoid processed food whenever I can and eat a very healthy diet I believe – 80% salads and vegetables, fish, fruit, blueberries, almonds/walnuts, wholegrain bread with Olivio spread (never bbutter)All most enjoyable. Does stress cause inflammation in arteries? I am a “classic A Type person” apparently.
Thank you.
Ps. My recent cholestrol reading was 5.0 mmoL/L but I forgot to as for he breakdown – high/low, doh!
High Cholestrol! The statin dosing! COQ 10 supplementation! The answer I think lies in ensuring constant eliminatio of the Free Radicals as mentioned in the article. It actually starts there! The skin has a powerful antioxidant called SQUALENE and this natural antioxidant protects the body from Free Radicals. However STATIN DRUGS virtually block and destroy this SQUALENE!! So if one lowers his or her High LDL levels using natural therapies- like adquate sun exposure- gets VIT D3-, uses COQ 10 to help energise the mitochondria-and help fight Free Radicals- and allows the SQUALENE -to prevent the Plaque build up in the arteries, and raises the HDL levels, one would not have to fear a heart attack or a blood clot/stroke.
Although I have read about STATINS destroying the SQUALENE- I would like the author to write an informative article on this for all of to understand the chain better.

Thank you muchly for this article. I was aware of most of it, but the patching up and inflammation issues were very helpful. I have high cholesterol (7.6) if I do not take statins, but my HDL has also been high due to using olive oil for cooking. Triglycerides are also an issue. I also have high blood pressure though it was a stable 120/70 for years. I also suffer from Type 1 diabetes and arthritis in many parts of my body. Both the diabetes and arthritis have been identified as auto-immune/inflammatory diseases. I am now wondering if all of these are connected and are in fact due to free radicals. I am now going to look into this more seriously. I have also been suffering from general muscle weakness and foggy brain and I am wondering, now, if this is due to my dose of statins being increased from 20mg to 40mg. The only side effect that I had heard of was aching muscles. In my case it actually improves or prevents aching muscles. Just to complicate things further I have spinal chord stenosis both in my neck and lower back which can cause some of these symptoms. Still, attempts to reduce free-radicals in the system seems a good way to go. I believe vitamin C is good for this????
You ought to also keep in mind that this price in fact includes not just the Control Your Cholesterol guide but many other courses to help you with your overall health. There is one final thing I want to mention relating to this program and that is certainly the point that these individuals actually want to make sure you are happy with your purchase. These few will make a difference in your own as they relate to kontaktlencse. is that all there is? Not by a very long shot – can your knowledge significantly, and we you.
inflammation caused the LDL to become sticky . this allows Calcium to stick to it. Ex rays to see the calcium in your arteries is the best indicator of the extent of the arterial plaque and blockages problem .. STOP INFLAMMATION. . Study your foods. Sugar, High fructose corn syrup, (sweetener in processed foods.) cakes, biscuits, white bread, milk, tomatoes ,CARBONATED DRINKS (SODA,SOFT DRINKS,)etc are acid producing foods. must be balanced with slightly more of the alkaline producing foods. Very critical issue.
stating drugs . first introduced 40 mg max . then reduced to 10 / 15 mg for maintenance dose. ?? For some strange reason some one in the drug company sent out a letter to madical clinics saying that they had made a mistake and it should have been 80 mg . $$$$$$ *0mg according to research is very toxic . and is causing deaths due to obliterating COenzyme Q10. as this is needed in muscles to function and when the level goes down mg for mg with the statin . the if it gets to 2 in the heart muscle it just stops. :(( also most people get sore muscles because it cannot be metabolised and excreted so it burns a hole in a muscle fibre and stores it’self there.
If you must take a statin work with your GP to lower the dose to 10 /12 mg and don’t take your cholesterol below 5 /6 . it is important to raise HDL. the liver will effect LDL levels according to inflammation . study your diet .. take lots of colours in vegies and fruits. for the antioxidants. lowers inflammation and stops the LDL from becoming sticky .
Excellent article on cholesterol.A detail study for patients and doctors.Save this valuable guidelines.

I would stop the Olivia as well. All artificial spreads are highly processed and simply not good for you.
Take a natural supplement like Ashwagandi if you need to lower your LDL as this will attack the route cause of your problem , (stress)and lower your LDL as the stress lowers. Trying to lower LDL when you are stressed is crazy and it needs to be high to strop you having a heammorage. This is the body’s natural defence. Christians exercise will also help with stress.
In Japan after the second world war LDL was on average less than 4 and the rate of stroke was 6 x higher than in the west although heart disease was very low. Since the arrival of the western diet this has changed and is now more like the UK/US.
Regards
Mark
My mother did not discover she had high cholesterol until she was in here 70’s…..she smoked and had a mini stroke….she gave up smoking…was given statins and had muscle problems as a result…she no longer takes them as is 81 now…my doctor has tried to get me on statins…i did intially but had side effects and have refused ever since…..Its hereditary that we have high ldl….my mothers father…to my mother to me..has gone opposite sex….Our triglcerides are fine…my crp is fine.
In uk and NZ they dont measure the particle size of the LDL…..I believe there are large particles which are increased by saturated fat and the very small particles are increased by SUGAR !,,,the large particles dont cause trouble..So the ldl figure can be misleading as its not known what the ration of particle size is….they do this test in usaa….its the small size ones that cause the plaque…so that is why diabetics have problems from elevated blood sugar levels and people who eat sugar are killing themselves…….Onions and Garlic can remove plaque deposits from arterial walls…fish oil can maintain supple arteries….Vit c is also essential for arterial health…..Green tea has high anti oxidant levels to prevent build up of free radicals…….Try to avoid eating sugar/simple carbs after 6pm….the body struggles to beak down sugars at that time….morning is best, followed by afternoon but low carb from 5 or 6 is easy on the body.
Plaque is a vit c deficiency along with excess sugar……for women over 70 high cholesterol is not considered dangerous and has anti cancer properties.I wont be taking a statin ever.Garlic/onions/apple cidar vinegar/green tea/beetroot/krill oil/raw nuts/avocados and ester c will all help.
From the hypochondriac's archive:
Q: Relation cholesterol heart attack?
A: Cholesterol is the building block of testosterone. Testosterone not properly 'processed' through exercise, creativity, sex or activity becomes stressful.
It's the sitting still part that causes the clogging, things that don't move self-destruct.
Blood that doesn't flow….clogs.
Other aspect: Don't worry about it, the best medicine. Final advice: Be creative, shake your bunda, live a long life.
Look for information from Stephen Sinatra, MD & Jonny Bowden PhD, nutritionist. They were on Dr. Oz not long ago talking about the great cholesterol scam.
Dr. Duane Graveline also has many articles on his web site with facts about statin drug damage.
Yes, there may be people who can truly benefit from taking a statin drug. MOST of us are not in that category.
Statins block a critical path in the body and CoQ10 is only one thing blocked out of several, one of which assists in management of blood sugar.
Diabetes increases, anyone?
It also appears that most physicians deny the possibility that statin drugs are causing problems that are clearly listed in the side effects the drugs might cause including muscle deterioration and death as well as brain problems like amnesia.
Read the Age Defying Diet Revolution by Dr Robert Atkins. It has all the above and more.
How high is too high? I don't think the "main line" researchers are free enough from the influence of the drug companies to do good research. Just finished viewing "The Oiling of America"by Mary G. Eng, Phd. The vegetable oil industry has demonized nutrious animal fats and destroying our health. DVD also contains some interesting exposures of the media being duped by "relative change" something that makes a small change seem must greater than it really is. Disgusting look at what the commerical vegetable industry has done for profit and not for any benefit to the country's health.

To convert US data to UK, multiply US figure by .02586
Vis
US 270.7 X .02586 = 7.0 MmoL/L. Conversely 7 / .02586 = US 270.7

The article is a good start but is incomplete. There is no discussion of the LDL molecules themselves.
I understand the LDL molecules come in two kinds, pattern A and pattern B. The difference is in the diameter of each type.
Normal Pattern A molecules act as said above as the delivery system . However oxidation via free radicals causes a mutation in LDL molecules which have a lesser diameter, pattern B. These are small enough to pass into the arterial walls and lodge there, whereas the pattern A type cannot do that.
Once lodged there they can cause an accumulation of plaque.
We need to reduce our load of free radicals to help here.
So we must eat foods which are stable at body temperatures and avoid foods that are unstable at body temperatures. The body is then forced to use its antioxidant mechanism to fight the effects of unsuitable food which depletes its stores and leaves it wanting when having to fight normal oxidation. Inflammation makes it worse again. Foods unstable at room temperature include all margarines and seed oils, the polyunsaturated kinds. Saturated and monounsaturated oils/fats are stable for months at room temperatures. Eat them instead.
We are told incessantly that high cholesterol is bad for us. But low cholesterol is far more serious. Cholesterol is an essential compound in our bodies. Low levels of cholesterol are associated with increased total mortality, cancer, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases, antisocial behaviour, depression, suicide, increased susceptibility to infections and other conditions.
The only information that reaches the masses as regards cholesterol, is that which is controlled by the upper echelons of the medical and pharmaceutical controlling elite. Through their paid for media moguls and media pundits they propagate the MYTH that is cholesterol.
The information and studies on the truth of cholesterol is abundant, so why is this information kept in the dark? The reason is simple to explain. Firstly, there are 30,000 medical journals published and no doctor can be expected to read them all. Secondly, wherever heart disease is mentined in conjunction with cholesterol, out of the many studies that have been published, only a mere handful – the supportive studies – are quoted. The vast majority that do not support the MYTH are rarely mentioned.
Those preferential citations have skewed the facts. In addition, pharmaceutical companies who sell cholesterol lowering drugs produce many publications which broadcast the cholesterol lowering MYTH to millions. So it is'nt really surprising that overworked professionals continue to teach us that cholesterol is dangerous, and pharmaceutical companies aggressively push their cholesterol lowering drugs.
If people were to take responsibility for THEIR well being, and not leave it to others, and did the research that is important for them, they would then be able to make an informed choice when confronting anyone from the medical profession. It is their life that is at stake, Doctors bury their mistakes, and remember after the two biggest killers on the planet, cancer and heart disease, doctors come third on that list. Who would want to put their lives in the hands of such a profession? The evidence is all around us, they cannot cure a runny nose, and we now have a society that is suffering untold plagues that vitually leave no household untouched.
All they do is TREAT, and treat some more, nothing about prevention, or a cure. For a healthy nation generates little profits for all that is the 'medical profession.'
The proof of the prescription is in the taking, and the evidence speaks for itself.
After all that you have heard about cholesterol, you may be surprised to learn that as you age, your chances of an early death 'rise' if your total cholesterol falls. The Japanese confirmed these results with a study conducted at Kyushu University.
Low cholesterol increases stroke risk, cancer risk.
Low blood cholesterol compromises immune function, and increases infections and deaths in surgical patients.
Low cholesterol increases depression and suicide risk, antisocial behaviour in adults, as well as mental illness in children.
Low cholesterol contributes to Parkinson's disease, diabetes and obesity, sickle cell anaemia, and Crohns disease in children.
Low cholesterol increases kidney disease risk, it increases death rates in young and old alike.
In other words low cholesterol affects just about everything that is you or I, and why, because cholesterol is an essential part of the body's means of functioning, it is at the heart of cell activity. All the above have been proven to be; as described by many studies in all parts of the world by Medical Universities, Doctors, Professors, whose results are there for all to examine. It is those studies that the ruling pharmaceutical mafia do not publish, like vaccines and so many other drugs they have created a market for, on an unsuspecting gullible public, who now look to them as the solution to all their sicknesses.
The pharmaceutical mafia have now got an indoctrinated public hooked on their sugar levels, blood cholesterol, tryglycerides, lumps, bumps, and spots and blemishes which could mean this or that or the other, and of course it needs drugs to deal with it.
The need to protect oneself means to step outside the 'system' and help oneself. As Dr Linus Pauling said, '95% of all illnesses can be PREVENTED by good nutrition.'
Low testosterone is harmful to men. It’s very common today and stress is a big factor, apert from pollutions from plastic and lifestyle shortfalls [exercise.good sex, diet etc].
Devin [above] has the right gist- as the body is actually trying to die off gently in aging- in the time scale evolution arranged by default.
We are actually living longer than nature intended- so this needs some examination and management by methods other than heavy dosage with chemicals, however useful for both transitory & chronic conditions.
Without good cholesterol and hence testosterone- illness and earlier death are on the cards.
One thing I’ve learnt online [in passing] is that arterial repair with a lack of Vit C causes flaky depositions [from wrong type cholesterol ] to be laid down -with subsequent risk of breakaway clumps leading to stroke etc.
Whilst Vit C should not be overindulged in regardless, levels of up to 500 mg daily as slow release can be useful. A break after a few days is always a good precaution. Higher levels [if taken] should be tapered off slowly to stop rebound deficiency.
I am 63 years old. At 34 the medics told me that my cholesterol etc was twice that regarded as healthy, and I would probably not live to 45. I was put on statins, which I decided to abandon after 3 years and repeated quarterly blood tests (which showed little improvements). Over the years the blood tests have continued to report my cholesterol level as about twice the normal. To date (fingers crossed) my health has been good. No further comment.
Thank you for this wonderful article on cholesterol. My doctors have wanted me to go on these statin drugs and I tried twice (two different brands) and it had a terrible effect on my muscles, so I stopped taking them. They still want me to take something to lower my cholesterol, but I refuse and just watch my diet and exercise.
Red yeast capsules work pretty good and don't effect the cramping. Try that. Love gg
Thank you for this very insightful article. I am thinking that if we consider the root cause as being inflammation and/or free radicals as is the case with many health issues, perhaps we would be well on our way. It seems that we have been badly mislead by the information received from Big Pharma and they mainly want to sell their statin drugs at any cost.
