In today’s feature article I’m going to reveal to you the easiest method I know to lower blood pressure, reduce anxiety, sleep better and even improve libido.

The best part is this method doesn’t really cost anything and anyone at any age and any physical stage can use it. And it doesn’t take any effort.

You see, in a study conducted by Jean Tang, an assistant professor at College of Nursing at Seattle University in Washington, group of borderline hypertensive seniors were asked to listen to either relaxing music (sound of the ocean or soothing voice of a man) or Mozart music for only 12 minutes, three times per week.

The results: both groups lowered their blood pressure.

The “relaxation music” group had their systolic blood pressure go down 9 points and the Mozart group dropped their systolic 7 points over a period of four months.

The researchers then followed up on people one month and three months after the study ended and found out that those who kept on listening kept their results. The people who stopped, however, lost their benefits.

Now you may not consider 7-9 points that amazing. But think about it. This is more than many medications deliver even though they guarantee serious side effects. If you’re borderline hypertensive (between 120/80 to 130/90) this alone can put you into or very close to the safe zone.

What amazes me the most, however, is how little effort this took. Listening to music for 36 minutes per week is something everyone can do. More studies have revealed similar results.

Lowering blood pressure is not the only benefit.

Studies on college students have found they score higher on intelligence tests as well as other tests after listening to Mozart and other classical music.

Other studies found that patients in the hospital that listened to soothing music required less pain medication, had lower blood pressure and lower levels of stress hormones. Even more amazing was that patients on “Mozart therapy” released more growth hormone, which is essential for healing and overall health. Aging rock stars frequently turn to “growth hormone therapy;” maybe tuning into Mozart once in a while would do them more good.

Finally, social proof of the benefits of classical music: British railway companies tested playing Mozart, Bach and Handel in their stations and the results were astonishing. The number of robberies and other crimes dropped one third and travelers reported increased feeling of security and well being.

So why is Mozart so powerful?

It’s not really that that the music makes us smarter, healthier or nicer. Researchers say it’s mostly because of the relaxing effects on our brain. When we relax, our brains don’t trigger the release of stress hormones.

You see, stress is the one underlying cause for so many health issues. You’ve emotional, physical, mental and sensory stress. And it accumulates in your body.

When it reaches a certain level (which varies from person to person), something breaks down. And the effects also vary from person to person; some people develop high blood pressure, others insomnia, yet others develop anxiety or become violent.

Stress can trigger inflammation, which results in type 2 diabetes, arthritis or cholesterol plaque buildup.

The worst part is that the high stress level often becomes chronic over time. So even if everything that used to cause stress is removed, your body is still releasing stress hormones. So you may not feel stress but your body has the symptoms.

The solution is to reverse the stress process. This is what the classical music does to some level. But if you want to try an even more powerful tool, check out our simple blood pressure exercises.

These exercises are designed to kind of “reboot” your system and completely reverse the chronic stress buildup that causes high blood pressure. They’ve been proven to help almost everyone, sometimes even the very first day.
