In a recent analysis of several mega-studies that looked at inflammation and type 2 diabetes, one delicious and easy-to-find tea took center stage.

For centuries, Asian cultures have extolled the virtues of drinking tea to prevent, heal, and even cure the body of a variety of ailments.

But a recent mega-study looking at over 12,000 participants over the course of many years showed (no surprise) that green tea stands out as a highly powerful weapon in the war against type two diabetes.

What the researchers found was that the more green tea was consumed, the less likely the occurrence of type two diabetes. In fact, those drinking more than 4 8-oz. cups per day were more than 15% less likely to ever develop diabetes in the first place, and indicators of inflammation were found less in the tea-drinkers.

Green tea contains, among its beneficial properties, very powerful antioxidants.

Even those drinking a lesser amount of tea saw benefits above the non-drinking peers, but the more tea consumed, the better off participants appeared to be.
