One of the top-selling blood pressure medicines and several others were recently linked to an increased risk in specific type of cancer.
While trying to reassure patients that the risk of developing cancer still outweighs the risk of not taking medication, researchers at the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Division of Research acknowledged that people who were taking certain blood pressure medications were indeed at increased risk of this cancer.
Those taking lisinopril, one of the most widely prescribed blood pressure medications, were at higher risk of developing melanoma in the squamous cells of the lips.
Research suggests that the medicine creates an oxidation process and creation of cancer-causing free radicals.
Other medications implicated in the study were hydrochlorothiazide and nifedipine.
Researchers mentioned nothing about how this risk doesn’t exist in a vacuum; instead of weighing the actual risk of the whole medication, taking into consideration ALL of the side effects and encouraging a more natural approach to beating high blood pressure, they instead maintained that it is safer to take the medicines and simply wear sunblock.
For a 100% natural and cancer-free solution to high blood pressure…
It did not tell us what med's to use instead of those mentioned….
Thank you for telling me about this because I’ve been taken HYDROCLOROTHIAZIDE ever since I became Diabetic(1998) not no more, because of the e-mail coming from you, then I’ve decided not to ever take HYDRO… or any other pressure medication again, hoping to reverse H.B.Pressure and Diabetes for good, the medicacation don’t really cure the disease. I’m also following a great Diet that works for me. To all of you out there, when you have H.B. pressure or Diabetes please watch what you eat because we’re much different than others who don’t
Thanks a million for opening my eyes, now I go NATURAL the best
Marie…would love to know more about your diet! I’ve been taking lisinopril for years, live on an island, & have noticed pre-cancerous cells around my lips recently!
What about Micardis-Plus?
Thank you for this information. I have been on Hydrochlorothiazide for years and Lisinopril for past 2 years. I will certainly stop taking these now as my BP seems to be under control and improved greatly since I’ve been on an anti-inflammatory diet for RA.
Wow more proof that they are trying to kill us! This drug, Lisinopril is also linked to COPD, when I STARTED taking it I developed a cough that I couldn’t control, the doc told me that was a side effect but my pressure was down, to stay on it….I didn’t! Through diet , exercise, and the info I have gotten in the newsletter,I am almost perfect.
wHAT DOES COPD in relation to the drug Lisinopril mean? Thanks for your information on Cancer and Blood Pressure. ron
