Inactivity was recently shown to increase the risk of death at the same linear upward trend as increases in high blood pressure, meaning as the time spent sedentary goes up, so does risk of death.
An increase in blood pressure and risk of death shows the same exact trajectory.
In a study presented earlier in April at the World Congress of Cardiology, more than 400,000 Taiwanese citizens were followed in varying activity levels: Inactive, Highly Active, and Moderately Active.
It was no surprise that the most highly active group showed the healthiest blood pressure numbers of the entire study.
Noting that as blood pressure increases, so does cardiovascular disease, the authors pointed out that people with the most healthy blood pressure levels were the ones that exercised regularly, and were therefore also the least likely to die prematurely.
Easy exercises to drop blood pressure naturally…
no joke i spose if u dont use it u will loose it.Anyway still dont no what these exercises are to lower blood pressure can u tell me what they are please.I am 41 yo male with Polycystic Kidneys.
I suffer from angina, which makes exercise, with any vigor, nearly impossible. Angina sufferers (approx. 6 million in the U.S.), experience very different levels of pain. Some, such as myself, experience tremendous pain when I engage in more than very limited aerobic exercise. It always astonishes me, that there are “no” medications for serious angina sufferers.
I wonder which is more effective exercise "brisk walking" or" Jogging" Do you need a streunous exercise to achieve a better result to lower your blood pressure?
This is so true, the moment I begin exercising my blood pressure takes a plunge.
Angina sufferers try taking Ubiquinol CoQ10 which is very beneficial for the heart. Read about it on the internet and then decide for yourselves.
John, have you tried changing your diet to include more raw, fresh food, more whole grains, less processed or sugery food? Also, short interval exercise done frequently may help too. If you can’t exercise 30 minutes daily, could you exercise 10 minutes, 3 times/day? Can you take short walks around your yard? Can you park further away from the door when you go shopping? Can you slowly walk up the stairs instead of using an elevator for 1-2 story trips? Have you looked into alternative medicine (supplements, homeopathic meds, massage, etc.)? Can you walk through the grocery store instead of using an electric cart? No matter how small you start, if you keep at it, you will improve little by little. The trick is to hang in there and keep at it, like your life depends on it!
I think and have heard that brisk walking is better than jogging because the latter and running can cause knee injuries and that can delay the exercise you need. Right now my problem is motivation.
yes, but have not been feeling well lately; keep hoping to get back on track, so to speak…
Does working for hours at the computer count for excercise or does it have to involve movement on the legs, e.g. walkin or running?
Do your walking sitting down “RIDE A BIKE”, rhythmic exercise is so much better and that’s what you get from cycling, steady rhythmic exercise without straining or pounding the lower limbs. Running is fun of course but when you can’t run the bike is so much more kind to the body ?
Thank you, friend ~
I believe good sleep, and a healthy diet is extremely important to anyone's health. Exercise is also very important. One or two of these are not enough. But, I do not alway's practice what I preach.
I will have to start doing some exercises.
I HAD ANGINA PAIN PRETTY BAD ABOUT 4-5 YEARS AGO, THEN I RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT HIGH DOSAGE OF VITAMIN C TAKEN IN ASCORBIC ACID (POWDER) FORM DAILY FOR A FEW MONTHS ALONG WITH CO-ENZYME OR COQ10 AND OMEGA3 FISH OIL DID THE TRICK FOR ME. NO MORE ANGINA PAIN. SINCE, THEN I HAVE BEEN WALKING 30 PER DAY, AND ALSO DO SOME PUSHUPS, SITUPS, BENCH PRESS, AND DUMBBELLS, AND I FEEL GREAT. I AM 53 YEARS OLD HAVE COPD BUT UNDER CONTROL (BREATHING EXERCISES). EATING GOOD BALANCED MEALS, AND I HAVE LOTS OF ENERGY AND LOOK LIKE I’M IN MY EARLY 40S. HOPE THIS MIGHT ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO HAVE A BETTER HEALTHY LIFE, AND ENJOY IT.
Exercise . That is so true my Bp is lower when I have a good day of yard work without meds .
My angina was generally associated with high blood preassure. Everyone knows of the danger of the drop in preassure when using Viagra but it was meant as a high blood preassure antidote in the first place, but then yeah – well it is ridiculous that it is not sold over the counter or more affordable in lower doses to prevent the terrible consequences of angina, but in the meantime keep the nitro handy.
making me feel guilty, Mark…. LOL…. need to get back on track.
