If you’re concerned about your health, you probably take one or more types of supplements daily. It doesn’t replace good diet but is important to cover any possible lack.

More important than taking vitamins is however to pick the right brand of vitamins. If not, you may not only be missing out on all the expected benefits, but also harming yourself.

Cheaper brands (and even some of the expensive brands) are often loaded with toxic fillers that can actually harm you. FDA has very little monitoring about what is used to keep the pill together or coloring it (aren’t these supermarket, kids chewing vitamins adorable?).

The ingredients, although called vitamin A, B, C, D (or something else), are also often produced in a way that your body can’t easily absorb them into the blood stream and most of the benefits go directly down the drain (literally).

The solution is to buy good quality vitamins and minerals from respectful brands sold in your local health store. It costs a little more but it’s money well spent.

Also read the ingredient list carefully before buying anything. And consult with the people working in the Vitamin section about the most reliable brands. They are often very knowledgeable.
