Controversial studies are emerging that try to suggest that Hormone Replacement Therapy, or HRT, carries benefits that outweigh any risk factors.
To find out what most of the medical community is still standing by, read on and make your comment…
New studies (that are being accused as being funded by drug companies) are coming out that suggest that the results of the Women’s Health Initiative study by the National Institutes of Health and the World Health Organization were not telling the complete picture.
The WHI study, which actually ended 3 years prematurely, showed that women who were on Hormone Replacement Therapy for menopause symptoms were more than 50% as likely to develop breast cancer as those who didn’t take it.
Studies continue to show a relationship, but proponents of HRT say the data was taken out of context and showed the wrong age groups were being studied.
They say the benefits of reducing the risk of heart disease and other health conditions outweigh the risk of breast cancer.
Health care providers worldwide still aren’t buying it, as they are increasingly reluctant to prescribe HRT and are looking more into natural solutions to prevent heart disease, osteoporosis, and other conditions that can accompany menopause.
The good news is there are many all natural methods to overcome menopause symptoms without side effects of hormone replacements. Learn more about those menopause methods here…
OK, WHY or 'how come' we are not being told HOW MANY YEARS was the WHI research study planned to-take, and why exactly was it 'rushed into print' three years early? There seems to be 'missing information' here in this Article; can us readers get an informative-Update(please)?

First off, there are "hormone" produced by the drug companies, such as Estrogen, that indeed might cause cancer. Estrogen has 17 ingredients that are not naturally found in the body. BUT, there are bio-identical hormones which are produced by using only natural things that the body produces. They are identical to the bodies production of hormones. So – therefore, which hormones are YOU talking about. Saying controversial things to get a reaction is ok unless you scare people who night be ready to take the plunge into something that will indeed make them healthier. Menopause symptons are not just "symptons", they are indeed a sign that the body is headed the wrong way. It is like pain, if you ignore it, and "suffer" through it – you could be headed for disaster. So it is with any "sympton". Any time something new is tried there are those who get "scared". Change is always a threat.
One more thing (to the comment below). The Medical Studies have said so many things then backed down, ie. "Coffee may produce cancer", then "Coffee now found to have benefits". People are so sick of the "may" that they really don't believe Medical Studies anymore. I hear it all the time. So – if you do mention "Medical Studies" most of us are going to laugh while reading it. But I do like your articles anyway.
I would like to forward this by email to others is there a way on your site?
Why fight the true natural process of things.. all things have a season.
Joe, many times a study is rushed into print to avoid careful scrutiny of the negative effects. The NIH study was halted due to the increase levels of cancer and heart attacks. The WHO is notoriously influenced (read controlled) by the Big pharma corps. And when the WHO/UN report on a well demonstrated fact that does not support big pharma/big chema, they bury the report. Witness what happened with their report saying Organic farming could feed all of of Africa while GMOs do not produce well and are toxic. When was the last time you heard about that report when Monsanto, et al are getting mass media to promote their poisons.
Menopause is a natural transition that everyone goes through in life. Most women go through menopause without much problems and do not need to be "treated". Playing with hormones is very dangerous as very small amounts in our body can bring about big changes. Our mothers and grandmothers went through menopause without any fanfare. Why all the fuss now? Someone must be making big money!
They did not go through it without a 'fanfare'. They suffered, were judged to be mad and were dosed up with tranquillizers. My mother would have been unable to work with hormone medication and some days for me it is a huge struggle to think clearly, move without pain and face the day – lucky you if this is not your deal – bio identical creams help me.
Because I can't sit on a beach with a pile of books for 10 years waiting for it to pass – the season drags on
I have tried many natural products such as Remifemin and nightime Reifemin. Doctors (especially men) do not know what to prescribe since women stopped taking HRT and the drug companies lost a LOT of money. The only thing they will prescribe is an anti depressant with dangerous side effects. I am open to anything natural. And insurance companies will not cover Bio Identical Hormones. Sure leaves women in between and rock and a hard place!
Medical professionals need to STOP telling their patient that the benefits of taking a drug, a drug that clearly has potentially irreversible and often fatal consequences, outweighs the risks of getting a deadly and painful disease (i.e., breat cancer, etc.). Do they realize how absolutely asinine they sound? What the heck is the benefit? For example, the group Public Citizen is calling on the FDA to ban the injectable diabetes drug Victoza, saying it can increase the risk of thyroid cancer, pancreatitis, allergic reactions, and even kidney failure. So where is the benefit here? Is it better to control ones blood sugars and die from thyroid cancer or kidney failure? A corpse is a corpse anyway you bury it and there is no benefit to that!
What about Bioidentical Hormone Replacement therapy? Does the same apply regarding it as well?
All of my friends and family that died from breast cancer were not on hormones.
The major study was conducted by the drug company which provided the only drug used, one combination of estrogen and progestin. No one seems to have conducted a study on the use of estrogen alone, with periodic transvaginal exams to assure there’s no vaginal signs of cancer. The Women’s study at one point focused on one issue–the answers are different for older women, and apparently seemed to say: continue what you’ve been doing for years as far as taking hormone therapy if you have been, and not starting hormone therapy if you haven’t.
After 10 years of serious menopausal symptoms where I was heavily menstrating for 3 weeks then not for one I was offered HRT. I was not told about the higher chance of getting breast cancer and when I researched it and found out I went straight off it – my grandmother had had both breasts removed. My symptoms had no relief andin fact my situation got worse. The good thing is that when I researched it I found out about natural progesterone cream after 3 months of a teaspoon each night on my belly I went back to 3-4 day periods and no hot flushes, nausea or brain fog. I gradually had more energy and was able to do more exercise and found other health issues seemed to just melt away. I read a book called “What the Doctors will not tell you about Menopause and also aseveral books by Sandra Cabolt on estergeon dominence…
Right on
Our mothers were not faced with the nutritional problems existing today. Over the years, wheat, Rye add Barley have been selected to make better bread. This has increased their gluten content around a hundred fold. This increased gluten disables the villi of the upper intestine so that nutrients are not adsorbed, resulting in malnutrition induced problems and increased hunger. The increased hunger coupled with the fact that the lower intestine is still capable of absorbing carbohydrates which turn to sugar and then to fat is the primary cause of obesity in modern society. Lists of grains which do not contain gluten are on the internet and to start oats and brown rice are recommended. Also look at the labels of canned goods and avoid or discard any containing MSG(monosodium glutamate) or Aspartame. These are some of the factors with which our parents did not have to contend.
Raven, You might look at some of the books by Suzanne Somers.
I used this Treatment with a great success. When somthing appeared on my mamaogram, then I gave up immediately forever. This Tx worked for me for 2 years. Without it I suppossed to be dead. Use it only when you can not control any menopause symptoms. When I intrerrupted ccompletely I was fine. Cancer is a Cell Disese , and if you care about it immediately is fine. I did anothere tX for colesterol and it happened again and I reduced it more then half and I did the mamorganm and I am OK. The BREST is telling you that YOU have to give up of sometihning in your life; food, stress, and emotional pain.
I hope I helped you!
