Is there a single reason why these levels creep into the danger zone with age? Most doctors will tell you no… that there are simply too many other variables that accompany aging that will affect blood pressure, cholesterol, sexual performance, metabolism, etc.
But are they right?
As the body ages, several of the processes that used to run smoothly, like circulation and digestion, tend to begin to encounter some blips along the way. Arteries harden, plaque builds up, foods we used to be able to eat suddenly begin to betray us.
In fact, hundreds of studies are done each year looking at the effects of aging on everything from hair to hemoglobin.
Doctors maintain that what ends up happening when people study one element of aging, such as hormone production, and its effect on blood pressure or other health issues, is that several other variables wind up polluting the process.
While it is true that variables such as hormone levels, development of food intolerances, concurring disease processes and other issues make the study look like a huge, messy Venn diagram when displayed for examination, the truth is they don’t have to.
Dwindling hormone levels will have an effect on an enormous number of processes in the body. This is true. That kind of biological stress on the body kicks a cascade of domino effects into motion.
Another disease process can complicate things, such as Type II Diabetes pushing blood pressure levels upward or liver disease making cholesterol levels go haywire. Again, there is a biological stressor that seems to accompany these problems, and these are things that will affect anyone…not just people who are getting older.
So what gives? And what comes first…the chicken or the egg?
The easy answer is that it really isn’t aging in and of itself that causes all these problems. It is stress.
Stress on the body comes in a variety of forms: emotional, environmental, biological, and so on.
But what is at the root of most of these stressors? The majority of time it is our choices. How much pollution we allow in our space, what kinds of foods we eat (or don’t eat), how active we are, and even our outlook on life can be choices that affect our aging body much more than the passing of time.
The stress of inflammation on the body is directly tied to what we choose to do or not do to ourselves. This is not really news. The distinction is made, however, when this inflammation worsens over the years and starts causing several problems that can each make the others worse….like an ugly cycle.
The fact that this typically happens parallel to our aging timeline is what pushes researchers to thinking that as we age we should come to expect (and accept) problems like high blood pressure, a sluggish metabolism, dwindling sex drive and high cholesterol.
The truth is, though, that there are a LOT of seniors out there…millions in fact…that have controlled for the “variables” that feed the cycle over the course of their whole lives and as a result have the bodies to prove it. At the same time, there are 9-year olds with heart disease because of 9 years’ worth of terrible food choices on the caregivers’ parts.
So why should high blood pressure and bad cholesterol be any different? They aren’t. While it’s true that the occurrences of these diseases increase with age, it’s because of the stress that accompanies variables we can control that is primarily responsible for their existence…not the age of the person experiencing them. Any kind of un-checked stress over time is going to add up. It’s cumulative power over time is what makes getting older look like the bad guy.
One method to reverse this process is what Christian Goodman calls “focused break”. His Blood Pressure Exercises work as reboot button for our nerve system and therefore permanently drop blood pressure down to normal. You can read more about his Blood Pressure Program here…
Scott Davis uses a little different approach to lower cholesterol. He focuses on minor lifestyle changes that make major difference in tackling cholesterol stress on the body. Learn more about his cholesterol method here..
But what about process that affect people that are simply due only to age?
Menopause is a good example of a process that is natural, though, and pretty much unavoidable. However, the complications that come with it can actually be effectively controlled with the right balance of natural therapies.
Symptomatic severity is not even something that is tied to aging. It’s generally tied to inflammation…again, as a result of long-term unchecked stress on the body over a long period of time. And as many as 24% of women don’t even know they have entered menopause until they notice they are skipping menstrual cycles. So this process is one that doesn’t have to be painful or miserable.
You can learn more about my natural methods to eliminate problematic symptoms of menopause here…
Erectile dysfunction can be the same way. A lot of lifestyle factors, piled up over the course of several decades can be a direct cause of ED. But Andropause, or the phase of life when a man’s testosterone levels would naturally begin to diminish, will happen eventually to all men.
But the only real key to how late in life this starts and how hard it’s going to hit is the stress that the body is under- again from controllable sources- and how long this stress is allowed to leave its cumulative mark.

One of the variables in a life that determines our safety is the factor we call knowledge. Here is an article whose value cannot be overestimated. The longer we exist on this Planet, the greater is our learning of its integrity, assets, and urgencies of change that affect us, inexorably. News and information should always stimulate THOUGHT about the urgent FACTS which contribute to our continued wholeness in every sense. This page does just that and should be carefully read by everyone respecting LIFE.

it´s true,,,, I keep stress to the minimum,,, and my body works jest fine,,,,
yes its easy to say but some peoples lives are stressfull and not of there own doing so its not as easy as abc.
I have controlled blood pressure but have to take medication plus I do the blood pressure excercises espcially when stressed. My husband has cancer and is undergoing treatments and that causes me stress. Plus his temper.
I agree 110% with the article on High Blood Pressure; I have it as well.
It don’t seem to rise until I get upset,or I feel something is stressing me.
I would like to learn more on the subject from anyone knowledgeable on
the Human body period.
very smart and rational thinking. Why are fast food places always full which in turn makes hospitals full. Hello.
Great article but as we have some control as to what we put in our bodies and the amount of activity we create, there are many who have either a clinical dysfunction or PTSD or just these times. Does anyone think the so called “over achiever” doesn’t have some dysfunction other than achievement.
People really need to get into their own heads and find out why they are the way they are and once they can get their head around this they can begin to make the adustments you suggest. Always remember there is no such thing as normal only percentages of people acting in the same manner and sharing a similar outlook, it is hard for someone outside that box to change his cognitive reasoning. Been there done that. Again great article. Thanks.
I have controlled blood pressure by ghiya juice.my B.P.was 100-160.now it is 80-120.I took ghiya juice 250 ml par day two month.
Very good article. Education is one of the factors in maintaining good health. Many people refuse to educate themselves and rely on the medical system to keep them healthy. The medical system is good for short term and emergencies, but we must take health into our own hands.
Practically every illness is diet related. We must know how to feed our bodies.
As a health researcher, I have seen many people turn around very quickly once the proper health principles were applied.
We have had a gentleman with hepatitis, extremely high cholesterol levels and the liver was non-functioning at 8o%. When he changed his regime and with special supplementation, at 9o days later his cholesterol was normal,
no hepatitis and a almost normally functioning liver.
The most miraculous case is of a gentleman at 85 years of age
that started with prostate cancer that metastasized into every part
of his body.
He was given 8-10 days to live and funeral arrangements were already made.
With the help of an associate who specializes with certain nutritional methods, the gentleman was pronounced cancer-free on the 61sth day by his doctor and he was out hiking on his ranch.
He lived another 10 years and passed away a natural death
with no illness whatsoever.
Many have eliminated their illnesses nutritionally with these very
simple method.

I beat high blood pressure (200 give or take 20) over 80 something) naturally with coconut oil (3 T/day, cayenne (3 caps/day) and Hawthorn (2 caps/day). It's now 140, (give or take 5) over 70 something). I've only been doing this for a few weeks. I gave up the prescribed drugs months ago because I heard that, while they bring the numbers down, they don't affect your chances of a stroke or heart attack.

There are many out there more qulafied to answer your question but having lived with self imposed high blood pressure for over 40 years I have learned a few things.
Number one your high figure is not as important as your low figure. If you can keep your low down in the 80 range that’s cool Your upper range is more or less a condition that fluctuates as your stress level does. I went through the whole nine yards in the 70’s ie: Transindental Meditation and Bio-rythum feed back. (You can tell by spelling I am not clinically educated)
I found that keeping track of my high numbers showed me a pattern. As long as my lows stayed constant and in range I really did not get concerned about my higher numbe but I needed to find out what was causing it. If it is just a temporary spike, write it off as short term stress elevation, if it continues then something is bugging you and you need to review your life style. Is it a aggrevation at work, financial problems, deep concerns that you are not really allowing yourself to realze. Something is causing it and I will bet it is not medical. Look deep and you will find an irritant and once you find that you need to work on how to limit or get rid of it. In some cases there is no fast solution but if you understand it it will not add to your anxiety and you will eventually get past it. Lee
Ironic, the article pointed to stress as the main cause of all the unwanted health problems which makes it a tall order to beat. The current life condition of an average person can not for sure avoid stress and be stressed in spite all effort in his/her part to avoid it. I don't believe any normal person can live a life without stress unless his being is genetically altered.
Its all about positive vibes.
At the outset let it be known that the recently invented cholesterol hype is nothing less than that, being a scam, a myth, also a legalised licence to allow the chemical drug industry and their aides, the medical profession, to make billions of pounds, euro, dollars or whatever. As an 84 years young person, with much energy, I am convinced that if all were to practice my slogans ‘WE ARE AS WE EAT, DRINK, SLEEP AND EXERCISE’ or ‘A CHANGE OF LIFESTYLE WORKS WONDERS’ our hospitals would be three quarters empty. Many give no thought to what is taken into the most wonderful system in the world – the human body. How many people read the ‘food’ ingredients labels, to discover that much of that is on offer and being eaten, is fake.
I guess it will take more than positive vibes to tackle the daily missery of life.Stress is a major component of being a normal human being weak and prone to problems.
Patay lang ang walang probema at walang stress.l
Ronnie is 100% correct. We have evolved into a society that gives little thought as to what we consume.
It is also interesting to look at how we have changed over the years. Our Parents or Granparents ate things that today we would have digestive problems.
I am not suggesting we become animals capable of eating “road kill” but I really think we need to understand that our bodies are made to heal many of the ills that are so easily treated by medication.
Your body was wonderfully made and given the opportunity it will put up an immune system that will heal many of our society driven ills.
Do not get me wrong, I realize in many cases the body has some limiting factor that may not allow it to function as it should and if medication is needed to correct this, great.
I guess I am just saying, in “most” cases, our bodies were designed to keep us healthy but with that said we cannot discount medicine and just as important, the mental portion of the equation.
I truly believe in many cases, a proper mental outlook along with nutrition and proper medical treatment can cure many problems. lee
It is very nice information & most of our talking is about its in addition to that our information’s is very poor… I appreciate your effort in this kind of popular disease.
Best regards…

The public hospital here has a fast food place in it.
I'm impressed. So many hospitals make it difficult for visitors to pick up a snack or some food when they're visiting, especially long-term patients.
James K. Gruetzner, the employees, most of who look like they should trade uniforms with the patients, eat there too. There is also a cafeteria in which the top-selling item is fried chicken.
(((hugs)))
There are ways to reduce your stress levels and the ancients taught us these ways.Tai Chi and Yoga are probably two of the best known techniques that have been proven to work. For me its Tai Chi Wu style.
