{"id":8980,"date":"2013-11-27T11:00:39","date_gmt":"2013-11-27T16:00:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/site\/?p=8980"},"modified":"2013-11-28T04:00:14","modified_gmt":"2013-11-28T09:00:14","slug":"high-blood-pressure-risk-lowered-19-in-4-hours","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/site\/2013\/11\/27\/high-blood-pressure-risk-lowered-19-in-4-hours\/","title":{"rendered":"High Blood Pressure Risk Lowered 19% in 4 Hours"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/exercising_high_blood_pressure.jpg\" alt=\"Drop Blood Pressure 19%\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-8981\" \/>Did you know that lowering the risk of developing high blood pressure \u2013 or reversing it &#8211; is as easy as a few hours a week of spare time activity?<\/p>\n<p>The findings of a large study review published in the American Heart Association journal Hypertension, involving more than 135,000 people, explains how this leisure activity saves us from high blood pressure. <\/p>\n<p>Researchers from Shandong University School of Public Health in Jinan, China, combined the results from 13 different studies on how physical activity affects blood pressure. <\/p>\n<p>The studies included 136,847 people from Europe, East Asia and the United States with relatively healthy blood pressure. <\/p>\n<p>In the follow up time period ranging from 2 to 45 years, at least 15,600 people developed high blood pressure. <\/p>\n<p>The results of a study review revealed that those who exercised in their leisure time at least 4 hours a week had a whopping 20% lower chance of developing blood pressure compared to people who had less than one hour of exercise a week. <\/p>\n<p>People who exercised during leisure time for one to three hours a week had as much as 11% lower risk of developing high blood pressure compared to those who exercised less than an hour a week. <\/p>\n<p>However, researchers accentuate that study findings are based on leisure physical activity.  Heavy physical job activity is not a significant factor to help lower blood pressure, as heavy lifting, prolonged standing and stress is often involved. <\/p>\n<p>Pleasurable recreational activities such as walking, jogging, swimming or hiking in  nature helps drop extra weight, improves blood vessel function, increases blood circulation and reduces stress. <\/p>\n<p>Working out may, however, not be enough to completely reverse high blood pressure.
