Difficult math problems and tubs of ice water for the feet were the stressful stimuli used to induce a stress response.<\/p>\n<p>Not only did the study leaders notice that the blood pressure went down more for people who ate pistachios compared to those who didn\u2019t eat them, but they also showed improvements in vascular health and heart rate.<\/p>\n<p>The best results (- 4.8 mm\/Hg drop in blood pressure) came from eating 1.5 ounces of pistachios a day. Researchers, however, saw improvements in vascular health  from eating up to three ounces per day.<\/p>\n<p>Surprisingly (or not) it didn\u2019t make any difference if the pistachios were salted or not.
