{"id":30542,"date":"2025-06-02T13:30:20","date_gmt":"2025-06-02T17:30:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/site\/?p=30542"},"modified":"2025-05-30T07:14:32","modified_gmt":"2025-05-30T11:14:32","slug":"cut-gout-pain-by-a-third-common-veggie-root","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/site\/2025\/06\/02\/cut-gout-pain-by-a-third-common-veggie-root\/","title":{"rendered":"Cut Gout Pain by a Third: Common Veggie Root"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Ginger-472187419.jpg\" alt=\"Cut Gout Pain by a Third: Common Veggie Root\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-9399\" \/>There\u2019s pain\u2026 and then there\u2019s gout pain.<\/p>\n<p>When you\u2019ve got a flare-up, any reduction in pain is happily accepted.<\/p>\n<p>And I\u2019m sure you wouldn\u2019t reject cutting it by a third \u2014 especially when all it took was a root veggie you may already have in your kitchen.<\/p>\n<p>This is all backed by a new study in the <em>Journal Delima Harapan<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The team conducted their study at the Parungkuda Public Health Center in Sukabumi Regency, Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>They recruited 25 elderly participants who were all experiencing pain from gout.<\/p>\n<p>First, they measured each person&#8217;s pain level using a standardized scale.<\/p>\n<p>Then they applied warm red ginger compresses to the painful joints.<\/p>\n<p>After the treatment, they measured the pain levels again to see if there had been any change.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what they discovered:<\/p>\n<dl>\n<dd>\n1.\tBefore applying the red ginger compress, the average pain score among participants was 3.18 on their pain measurement scale.<\/p>\n<p>2.\tAfter treatment with the red ginger compress, the average pain score dropped to 2.09.<\/p>\n<p>3.\tSo the pain reduction was about 1.09 points \u2014 a third.\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p>The scientists attributed the effect to the fact that red ginger contains powerful plant compounds like gingerol and shogaol, which are known for their warming and anti-inflammatory effects.<\/p>\n<p>They also noted that when applied to the skin as a warm compress, these compounds help to relax tense joints and muscles, increase blood circulation, reduce inflammation and swelling, and alleviate pain signals from the affected area.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to give it a try, grate some fresh red ginger root and wrap it in a clean cloth.<\/p>\n<p>Heat it slightly so it\u2019s warm but not hot enough to burn.<\/p>\n<p>Then, apply the compress to the painful gout-affected joint for about 15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>This is a great quick fix if you\u2019re having a flare-up.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blueheronhealthnews.com\/health\/the-end-of-gout-vsl-bhhn\/\">But you can completely rid yourself of gout for good using the simple diet and lifestyle changes explained here \u2014 thousands of readers have already done it\u2026<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There\u2019s pain\u2026 and then there\u2019s gout pain.
